The Communications Officer will have the following responsibilities:

  • Lead the production of education, advocacy and outreach products (videos, reports, infographics) to achieve program and organizational objectives, while upholding Dawlaty’s values; following up on design and publishing of materials in cooperation with program team.
  •  
  • Manage Dawlaty’s social media accounts, including identifying materials and responding to and managing communications through such accounts. And ensure implementation of Dawlaty’s social media policies; Produce monthly reports on reach and use of Dawlaty’s social media presence.
  •  
  • Provide support and capacity building to Dawlaty’s team and partners on communication.
  •  
  • Promote a better understanding of Dawlaty mandate and field of work by carrying out media, information and education activities, including prepare and publish quarterly newsletter for Dawlaty, Annual reports and updating Dawlaty's website content and design.
  •  
  • Communicate with Syrian, regional and international media
  •  
  • Handle other media and communication tasks in support of Dawlaty’s program priorities.

Reports Directly to:  Director

 

The applicabnt must have the following qualifications:

  • Relevant post-secondary qualifications, preferably in Media and communications
  • Experience in design and implementation of communication strategies, preferably in relation to NGOs and civil society.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Arabic and English
  • Knowledge of and experience working in Syrian context strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of gender, human rights, civil society, civic and democratic values and transitional justice strongly preferred
