DCA Lebanon has worked in mine action since 2007. In addition to reducing the harm from explosion, clearance activities also release contaminated land for socio-economic development in the context of rising demands from the local and refugee population. In 2012, DCA began implementing humanitarian and development projects through local partners and scaled up its operations in 2021 due to the deepening crisis in country.

Role

The overall objective of this role is supporting the implementation, administration, and reporting of projects within the organization. This position aims to ensure the smooth execution of project’s activities, facilitate effective communication between project’s stakeholders, and contribute to the achievement of project’s objectives and targets including project’s visibility on social media.

 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with Head of program and program team members to support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of project’s activities.
  • Assist in organizing meetings, workshops, and events related to project’s implementation, including logistical arrangements, communication, and documentation.
  • Engage with project’s stakeholders, including partners, beneficiaries, and donors, to gather information, provide updates, and address queries or concerns.
  • Assist in writing success stories and feature articles related to the various projects and activities/events under the humanitarian program.
  • Coordinate with the humanitarian team and partner NGOs in relation to writing articles, producing messages, and producing videos.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to program’s team members, including maintaining project’s files, databases, and documentation.
  • Assist in the preparation of project’s purchase requests, ToRs, and reports, including compiling data, drafting narrative sections, and ensuring compliance with donor’s requirements and organizational standards.
  • Manage regular posting schedule of activities’ promotion on social media platforms, develop miscellaneous content to increase followership, and monitor and respond to comments and direct messages in a timely manner.
  • Assist in script writing, captioning videos or photos, and editing.
  • Contribute to monitoring and evaluation efforts by collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing data on project’s progress and outcomes.
  • Assist in any other duties as may be deemed necessary.

 

Background

  • Previous experience (at least 1-2 years) in a similar role, preferably in the context of international development, humanitarian assistance, or nonprofit organizations.
  • Familiarity with project management principles and tools, including project planning, budgeting, and monitoring.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management software.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Knowledge in running social media accounts such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Website, etc.
  • Proficiency in graphic designing and video editing skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as international development, business administration, or project management.
  • Fluency in English is required, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Arabic or French is an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and task execution.
