Project description
Developing Rehabilitation Assistance to Schools and Teacher Improvement (D-RASATI) will improve educational outcomes in Lebanese public schools by improving the school learning environment, improving teacher and student performance, increasing community and parental involvement. The D-RASATI program is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Title: Leadership Development Program ManagerSummary: The D-RASATI project is seeking an Activity Manager to serve as the lead for the implementation of the “Training of Principals through LDP II” activity as part of the D-RASATI Project Component 4: School Leadership Development with Parent and Community Involvement. The LDP II Activity Manager will liaise with D-RASATI implementers and Ministry of Education and Higher Education designated officials to ensure that the agreed upon LDP II activities are implemented in a timely and high quality manner. The LDP II Activity Manager will report to the D-RASATI Deputy Chief of Party and will be located in Beirut, Lebanon with frequent, in-country travel. The position is full-time and will be based at the D-RASATI project office.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (include but are not limited to):The LDP II Activity Manager is responsible for the management and implementation of the LDP II activity. S/he: Under the direction of MEHE, coordinates the implementation of the leadership development program for 900 public school principals. Coordinates the administrative, programmatic and operational implementation of the LDP II activity, in compliance with EDC, USAID and host country requirements. Develops scopes of work for and supports the recruitment of technical advisors responsible for updating and developing training materials and other technical needs as they arise Coordinates the recruitment and orientation of LDP II trainers and facilitators Collaborates closely with the D-RASATI M&E Director in the monitoring and evaluation of the LDP II activity Participates in the D-RASATI Senior Management Council Collaborates with the D-RASATI Finance Director to make sure that necessary USAID and host country regulatory compliance directives are implemented and proper policies and procedures are enforced.; Interfaces directly with the MEHE and USAID by providing regular information and updates on activity progress.
QUALIFICATIONS:This position requires high educational achievement; excellent writing skills; demonstrable initiative, creativity and flexibility; ability to work independently and effectively in groups; and strong interpersonal & organizational skills. Specific requirements: An advanced degree in Education Management or related fields of education, (preferably at the PhD level.) Experience in managing and implementing large scale training programs Experience in training or research in education management-related fields. Experience as a school principal highly desirable Excellent organizational skills and an aptitude for details. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Arabic (communication skills in French desirable) 10+ years related experience, including a minimum of 4 years supervisory/project management or program development experience.
