About the USAID-Funded Agriculture and Rural Empowerment (ARE) Activity in Lebanon: 

The USAID-funded Lebanon Agriculture and Rural Empowerment (ARE) Activity, implemented by Chemonics International, aims to develop rural economies in Lebanon through support to the agri-food sector and other industries to unlock local and export sales potential while also creating jobs and increasing farmers' and workers' incomes. 

Description of Intervention:

ARE is accepting grant applications for the implementation of the "Beirut Blast Business and Food Security Recovery" activity. This activity will assist with the rapid recovery of business activity, and subsequently, improvement of food security and livelihoods of business owners and residents operating and living in areas impacted by the Beirut Blast. The grants will be awarded and implemented in accordance with USAID and US Government regulations governing grants under contracts and ARE’s internal grant management policies.

Important Dates:

Deadline for confirming attendance of pre-application workshop and submission of clarification questions: Thursday, August 27 5:00 PM.

Non-mandatory pre-application workshop: Friday, August 28, 2020 12:30 PM. 

A Questions/Answers session has been conducted, and the results can be requested by email for interested applicants. 

Deadline for submitting applications: Friday, September 7, 2020 5:00 PM.
