The Meaning(s) of Social Justice: Political Imaginaries from the October Movement in Lebanon

 

Date: Thursday 24 November at 3pm (Beirut time).

This webinar is to present the research conducted by Nadim Haidar between february and november 2022 in the framework of the centre’s Social Justice Fellowship Programme. Nadim Haidar’s intervention will be based on his paper published by the centre (available here) which investigates the political imaginaries of the protestors that took part in the massive social movement of 2019 in Lebanon, commonly referred to as the “October Revolution”. The intervention examines the various understandings and interpretations of social justice that underpinned the actions and visions of the social movement’s participants.
