Job Summary:
Psychologists are core members of the healthcare team at Caritas Lebanon. They are responsible for the provision of mental health services and for ensuring the psychological, emotional, and mental well-being of individuals, families, and groups seeking services at the organization.
Duties:
Psychologists work in community settings, shelters, and within primary health care centers (PHCCs). They function within interdisciplinary teams alongside nurses, social workers, psychomotor and speech therapists, and psychiatrists.
- Assess referrals received for mental health concerns from social workers or PHCC staff
- Provide psychological first aid to individuals in crisis
- Conduct intake assessments and various mental health screenings
- Provide initial diagnoses, case conceptualizations, and treatment recommendations
- Administer and interpret a variety of psychological tests and assessment instruments
- Provide individual, family, and group counseling, as per treatment plan
- Follow up on the progress of treatment plans, as per organizational policy
- Maintain proper documentation of mental health services provided
- Refer individuals internally and externally, as needed
- Deliver mental health awareness sessions in community settings
- Work alongside and collaborate with other professionals at the centers or PHCCs
- Maintain the highest level of professionalism and abide by the organization’s code of ethics and practice guidelines
- Engage in continuing education to acquire up to date knowledge on relevant evidence-based practices
- Seek supervision systematically to ensure personal and professional development
- Engage in self-care practices to ensure personal well-being
- Report any concerns to the Mental Health Unit Team Leader

- An evidence-based approach to psychological interventions (for example: cognitive behavior therapy)

- Strong organizational skills
Computer Skills:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
Academic Education:
- Master’s degree in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, child psychology, or a related field, along with relevant clinical experience.
- Passing score on the colloquium for psychologists and a license to practice psychology from the Ministry of Public Health.
Experience & Knowledge:
- 3-5 years of experience
- Experience in the field of psychology and vulnerability/disability
