Role Overview
The Projects Coordinator is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and monitoring of multiple projects within Borderless NGO. The role involves managing project teams, ensuring timely delivery of activities, and maintaining high-quality standards. The Coordinator will act as a budget holder, provide narrative and financial reports, and ensure all projects align with organizational goals and donor requirements. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong skills in work plan design, action planning, and team management.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management and Implementation
- Oversee the coordination and implementation of multiple projects, ensuring activities are delivered on time and within scope.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project work plans, action plans, and implementation schedules with clear deadlines and milestones.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
- Ensure all projects comply with Borderless NGO’s standards, donor requirements, and legal regulations.
Team Leadership and Capacity Building
- Manage, mentor, and guide project teams, fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure that staff members have the resources and training they need to succeed.
- Promote a positive and inclusive work environment that aligns with Borderless NGO’s values.
Budget and Resource Management
- Act as the budget holder for assigned projects, ensuring effective financial planning, allocation, and expenditure tracking.
- Monitor project budgets, ensure cost-effectiveness, and maintain compliance with donor financial guidelines.
- Coordinate with the finance team to prepare and submit accurate financial reports.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
- Develop narrative and financial reports for internal stakeholders and donors, ensuring they reflect progress, challenges, and outcomes.
- Implement robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess project impact and drive continuous improvement.
- Provide regular updates and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders on project performance.
Strategic Planning and Forecasting
- Conduct needs assessments and context analysis to inform the design of new projects and initiatives.
- Forecast resource needs, potential risks, and opportunities for project expansion or scaling.
- Contribute to the development of organizational strategies and goals through insights gained from project implementation.
Stakeholder and Partnership Engagement
- Liaise with donors, partners, and stakeholders to ensure alignment of project activities with their expectations.
- Represent Borderless NGO in relevant sectoral meetings, workshops, and forums to advocate for its mission and programs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners to facilitate collaboration and resource mobilization.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Development Studies, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 5–7 years of experience in managing multiple projects, including team leadership and budget oversight.
- Strong expertise in work plan development, action planning, and implementation scheduling.
- Proven ability to produce high-quality narrative and financial reports.
- Experience in monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) frameworks.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
- Fluency in English and Arabic (written and spoken).
- Commitment to Borderless NGO’s values, including inclusivity, ethical accountability, and the Do No Harm principle.
