Security, and Field Operations Coordinator

Position Summary:
The Security, and Field Operations Officer will oversee security management, field logistics, and assistance delivery to vulnerable populations in South Lebanon, Beirut, and Mount Lebanon. This position requires extensive field travel, strong engagement with communities, and the ability to adapt to diverse settings, especially in emergencies.
Responsibilities:
- Field Monitoring, Community Engagement, and Program Support
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor ongoing services, ensure safety, and assess security conditions. Maintain strong relationships with community leaders and beneficiaries to foster trust and support program acceptance.
- Provide general on-site support for all field service activities, assisting in the setup and delivery of project implementation tasks to ensure objectives are met on time and at high quality.
- Oversee the quality and timeliness of reporting on-field activities, tracking progress for internal review, and submitting weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports as needed.
- Operational Security, Field Logistics, and Emergency Response
- Develop and implement security protocols tailored to field operations, coordinating closely with the Procurement & Operations Manager to ensure personnel and resource safety.
- Coordinate logistics and distribution of in-kind (food and non-food) and cash assistance, working to maintain safe, clean, and organized environments for distributions.
- Provide direct, on-ground logistical support during emergency responses, working with local authorities to ensure secure and effective delivery of aid.
- Assist in planning and executing emergency response activities, continuously monitoring impact, and reporting back with feedback to optimize future responses.
- Program Coordination and Administrative Support
- Support developing and maintaining tracking tools, monitoring program achievements, and working with program partners for seamless day-to-day coordination.
- Act as the liaison between the community and Anera offices, addressing beneficiary feedback, troubleshooting issues, and reporting any challenges to the Project Manager.
- Prepare and submit financial and operational documentation as required, contributing to transparent, accurate reporting.
- Identify high-risk cases, protection concerns, and safety issues in the field, referring these to Anera’s programs or specialized agencies when needed.
- Capacity Building and Staff Support
- Conduct security and field training for Anera staff, partners, and drivers, ensuring everyone is briefed on safety protocols and operational expectations.
- Organize and facilitate capacity-building activities for local implementing partners, ensuring alignment with project goals and field practices.
- Promote and oversee the Feedback and Complaint Response Mechanisms, facilitating affected populations’ access to these systems and reporting relevant issues to the MEAL department.
- Data Management, Monitoring, and Reporting
- Support regular data entry and data cleaning, maintaining organized records of field activities and beneficiary data.
- Monitor project performance and evolving field conditions, flagging contextual changes, challenges, or protection concerns to the Project Manager or focal points.
- Track project objectives and tasks, accurately reporting field-level activities to the Project Manager while continuously assessing project effectiveness for improvement.
Other
- Support ongoing assessment of household eligibility for assistance, applying a protection lens and prioritizing cases with high-risk factors.
- Manage day-to-day field activities in coordination with other field teams to ensure the safe and effective delivery of assistance, coordinating with implementing partners to promote progress toward shared objectives.
- Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support operational and security needs in the field.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, social sciences, statistics, risk management, logistics, security,, or related fields is required
- 3+ years of experience related to program support is required
- Proficient computer skills to include Google Platform
- Collaborative interpersonal skills and customer service skills
- Proficient written and oral communication skills
- Language Requirement: Fluency in Arabic and English is required (both written and spoken)
