Amel Association International (Amel) is a Lebanese and non-sectarian NGO created in 1979. Amel works through 27 centers, 6 mobile medical units, 2 mobile education units and 1 protection unit, and for more than 40 years has supported the poorest regions of Lebanon, from Beirut and its South Suburbs to Mount Lebanon, Bekaa and South Lebanon. Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Provide mental health specialized services at the PHCs.
  • Ability to provide structured clinical assessments and clear case formulation et an initial therapy plan for each beneficiary based on their symptoms and chief complaint. Usage of ICD/DSM terminology.
  • Conduct individual therapy sessions with beneficiaries and monitor/document their progress using standardized tools.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of the beneficiary by scheduling appointments need.
  • Must be skilled in at least one evidenced-based psychotherapy approach (IPT,EMDR,CBT…)and in using different relaxation & stress management techniques.
  • Able to provide psychological first aid (PFA) if needed.
  • Fill record sheets for each session conducted with the beneficiary.
  • Submit mental health reports for each beneficiary.
  • Participate in team meetings. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team present with you to refer to psychiatric assistance or hospitalization if needed.
  • Provide awareness sessions, trainings and support for PHC staff when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Education:

  • MA in Clinical Psychology with a clear practicum path (at least 500 hours).
  • Licensed from MOPH.
  • Being Member of the Lebanese Order of Psychologist is recommended.

Experience:

  • 2-3 years of experience in clinical psychology.
  • Previous experience in NGO and humanitarian field is an advantage.
  • IPT training is a plus.

  • Good organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Dynamic personality. Self-motivated and initiative taker.
  • Ability to communicate with vulnerable populations.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrates ability to adhere to ethical considerations and principles with regard to work with
  • vulnerable populations.
  • High degree of responsibility, initiative, emotional stability, culturally sensitive to those receiving aid.
  • Good reporting skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet use. Fluency in written and spoken
