Background:
Al Amal Institute for the Disabled, founded in 1959, is one of the first resident centers for the intellectually disabled in the region. Located in Broummana, we provide a residential center for care and rehabilitation of adults with intellectual special needs,. Our aim is to create an inclusive and empowering environment and lifestyle for people with special needs through the promotion of their abilities, and through their participation in productive, social and cultural activities. Each of our residents has a role in the life of our community, and in our programs benefiting over 65 non-profits across Lebanon.
Al Amal is looking for a 3-days a week resident caregiver (f/m) to take care of our residents with special needs.
Job Summary: The part-time caregiver will be responsible for residing in the center and offering residents direct assistance and coordination for 3 days a week.
Responsibilities:

Deliver direct assistance to residents in everyday life skills, including: personal hygiene assistance, grooming, administration of medicine, and general well-being
Ensuring residents’ safety and maintaining a safe and positive environment
Assisting in home management functions such as light housekeeping and cleanliness check-up, laundry, bed making, and cleaning
Ensure the timely and safe implementation of daily programs and activities, including in: daily productive activities of the residents, assistance when needed during outsider visits to the center, or residents’ trips outside the center
Daily miscellaneous schedule
Timely report concerns and incidents to management

 
Job Requirements:
Education: 
a technical diploma or degree in social services, pedagogy, health care or similar is a plus
Work Experience:

Previous Experience in working with persons with special needs, the elderly or vulnerable populations is required
Experience working in an NGO or care center is a plus

Skills and Competencies: 

Demonstrated understanding of working with children and particularly vulnerable children
Interpersonal skills: you must be sensitive, compassionate and patient, with great communication skills
Empathy: you must be sympathetic to and understanding of the needs of the residents
Attention to detail: some residents have specific schedules, needs, and rules that must be followed
Reliable: residents depend on you for care and assistance. You must be on time and attentive when scheduled

 
Language Skills: 
Fluency in Arabic is required, English speaking is a plus
