Socio-Education Initiative In Dbayeh Camp

The project approach combines informal education and social interventions with families and children with special needs. This approach is designed to achieve the following results:

- Make available an adequate space for children to be involved in leisure and expressive activities, such as drama, handicrafts, dance, sports, cine-club, trips, and summer camp to address the rights of girls and boys to play in a safe environment where they can express themselves.

- Develop prevention programs that focus on life skills that address violence and substance abuse in particular.

- Conduct complementary activities related to social follow-up with families. This will support an increased impact on the children enrolled in the project.

The targeted age group is from 6 to 18 years old and their families

Overall Objectives: 
Goal: Improvement of the social environment in Dbayeh Camp Outcome : Quality access to informal education for children from 6 to 18 years old in Dbayeh Palestinian Refugee Camp
Activities: 
Rehabilitate a community center Empower a committee of volunteers. This project will build the capacity of volunteers to lead activities for children. Run socio-educational activities in the centre. Organize and deliver summer camps for the targeted children between 6 and 12. Children above 16 years old can be recruited and trained as volunteers to lead the summer camp activities Organize and deliver big events like a Kermis Provide family support through the intervention of a social worker.
