BACKGROUND

ACTED is an International Non-Governmental Organization registered in France with global operations in Central and South Asia, Europe, Middle-East and Africa. ACTED has been active in Lebanon since 2006 operating mainly in the North and Beirut and Mount Lebanon governorates of Lebanon. As part of its efforts to improve resilience in Lebanon to crises, ACTED has been developing the capacity of local authorities and institutions as part of its community development strategy.  ACTED is implementing a project providing protection and livelihoods support to vulnerable women through funding from UNWOMEN in Tripoli in partnership with RDFL.

Project Implementation

Plan the various stages of project implementation and ensure work plan stays on track;

Develop appropriate project tailor-made tools and methodologies in collaboration with the consortium partners, consortium coordinator and the ACTED technical advisor;

Organize TVET training within Community Centers in Tripoli;

Oversee the organization of apprenticeship placements for select women in the program;

Oversee job placement for a select group of women from the program;

Guide the implementation of the assigned project and the methods of follow-up, with a focus on technical aspects and quality insurance through close monitoring;

Manage project finances, logistics and materials in relation to protection activities;

Liaise with all internal and external counterparts of the protection component;

Assess the activities undertaken and ensure efficient use of resources.

 

Coordination and external representation

Attending national level livelihoods coordination meetings and working groups; Take leadership positions when appropriate;

Bilateral coordination with INGOs, LNGOs, CBOs and other relevant stakeholders to avoid duplication and collect information on gaps and needs;

Establishment of a GBV referral network amongst partners actively providing services in Tripoli area;

Coordination with community centers, local authorities and relevant Governmental departments;

Upon request, meet and represent ACTED at Donor meetings.

 

Reporting and documentation

Ensure proper filing of attendance sheets and project documents;

Follow up on all paper work and reporting needed from the field;

Conduct phone calls and follow up with beneficiaries, if necessary;   

Collect case studies and success stories according to ACTED guidelines

 

Accountability to Communities and Beneficiaries

The Livelihoods Field Officer is responsible for ensuring that all relations with the communities we work are conducted in a respectful and consultative manner.  Due attention must be paid to ensuring that communities are adequately consulted and informed about ACTED program objectives, activities, beneficiary selection criteria, and methodologies.  This is the responsibility of every ACTED staff member.

 

Requirements

University degree in a relevant field such as International Development, Economics, Business, Education etc.

Strong ability to work independently, organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail;

Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility;

INGO and/or UN experience in similar position preferred;

Personal qualities: Works well in and promotes teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well;

Experience in working in the livelihoods sector, specifically in support to businesses, coordination of apprenticeships etc.

Experience delivering trainings and curriculums is an asset.
