Evaluation: LIVELIHOODS PROMOTION AND ECONOMIC ENGAGEMENT FOR SYRIAN REFUGEES AND HOST POPULATION IN VULNERABLE COMMUNITIES IN BAALBEK-HERMEL, BEKAA, NABATIYEH AND SOUTH GOVERNORATES in LEBANON – Phase II

Action Against Hunger tackles the causes and effects of hunger and diseases that threaten the lives of vulnerable children, women and men.

Action Against Hunger opened a mission in Lebanon in August 2006, to secure and improve the living conditions of vulnerable populations, working in the most affected areas concerned with food security, health, nutrition, water, sanitation, and hygiene issues, but also livelihoods and agriculture, in close cooperation with the Lebanese authorities, our partners and donors.

With the new development in the region and the influx of Syrian refugees in the Northern part of the country in 2011, Action Against Hunger started new emergency activities in response to the basic needs of the incoming and host population. A new base was opened in Zahle April 2012. Since December 2012, Action Against Hunger has grown significantly in terms of operations, budget and staff, and it is currently the main WASH actor in the Bekaa Valley.
