Purpose of the assignment:

Kvinna till Kvinna is looking for a skilled Sound Technician/Engineer to support the production of a series of five podcasts by creating high-quality audio content that engages our target audience and conveys key messages effectively. In each episode, there will be three speakers and the speakers may participate remotely in the podcast conversation.

 

Deliverables and specific tasks:

  • Reviewing podcast scripts and providing input on sound design and technical feasibility.
  • Recording and editing podcast episodes, including but not limited to:
    • Cleaning up audio recordings to ensure clarity and quality.
    • Adding necessary effects (e.g., music, transitions) to enhance the listening experience.
    • Mixing and mastering episodes for optimal sound quality.
  • Delivering finalized audio files in appropriate formats ready for publishing.

 

The sound engineer will deliver the following:

  • Five professionally edited podcast episodes meeting agreed-upon quality standards.
  • All associated audio files and project files used in production.

 

Management and organisation:

The Sound Technician/Engineer will be working closely with the Kvinna till Kvinna team to ensure that the podcasts are edited professionally. The Sound Technician/Engineer will be responsible for completing and delivering the above specified deliverables to Kvinna till Kvinna.

 

 

Timeline:

The series of podcasts will run in 2024 (tentatively June to July 2024)

 

Contracted Sound Technician/Engineer cannot further subcontract the assignment.

 

Required qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in working with podcast production, preferably in the field of gender issues.
  • Willingness to share portfolio and sample of previous work.

 

Technical Requirements

The sound engineer should have access to the following equipment and software:

  • High-quality recording equipment (microphones, audio interface, headphones).
  • Audio editing software (e.g., Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, GarageBand).
  • Ability to record remotely if needed (e.g., through Zoom or other platforms).

 

The work plan for the implementation of the assignment will be developed in partnership with Kvinna till Kvinna team.
