The International Rescue Committee is an international organization specializing in emergency and humanitarian programming. In response to the influx of Syrian refugees in Lebanon, the IRC started a Women’s Protection and Empowerment (WPE) program in 2012 with program strategies implemented in various locations in the Bekaa, Akkar and Tripoli regions. Through IRC’s works in Lebanon, adolescent girls were identified among the most at risk groups to multiple forms of gender based violence (GBV).

KAFA (enough) Violence & Exploitation is a feminist, secular, Lebanese, non-profit, non-governmental civil society organization seeking to create a society that is free of social, economic and legal patriarchal structures that discriminate against women.
It seeks to realize substantive gender equality through the adoption of a combination of different approaches, such as advocacy for law reform and introduction of new laws and policies; influencing public opinion, practices; conducting research and training, and empowering women and children victims of violence.

The WPE Sr. Program Officer is a key position in the WPE Program, and supports the Program Manager by identifying key advocacy issues, refining and revising program design, and monitoring program implementation and quality.

Established in 2005, KAFA (enough) Violence & Exploitation is a feminist, secular, Lebanese non-profit CSO working towards eliminating different forms of exploitation and violence against women. KAFA launched in 2010 the Anti-Trafficking unit to protect women victims of human trafficking, namely women victims of sex trafficking and migrant domestic workers victims of labor exploitation and abuse. KAFA’s efforts evolve around evidence-based advocacy, awareness raising and campaigning, and provision of multi-sectorial services to victims including access to a 24/7 safe shelter.
