The project entitled “Makani: Education, Protection, Empowerment, and Community inclusion in Lebanon” aims to enhance educational services, empower caregivers, and support economically vulnerable mothers. The project is targeting mothers of economically vulnerable families with children excluded or at risk of exclusion from school build pathways to economic empowerment and social inclusion and improve their opportunities to access income by focusing on achieving four main results: Livelihood promotion, social protection, social empowerment, and financial inclusion.

Kvinna till Kvinna is a non-profit organisation that provides support to women rights organisations and women human rights defenders in conflict-affected areas to promote gender equality and women’s participation in all levels of decision making. Kvinna till Kvinna has established operations in the MENA region since 2001 with a regional office in Amman, Jordan, and country offices in Palestine, Lebanon, and Iraq. Kvinna till Kvinna currently supports some 50 women’s rights organizations in eight countries in the region with organizational, thematical and financial assistance.

The Lebanese Women Democratic Gathering (RDFL) is a feminist, secular, non-governmental organization advocating for and raising awareness about the rights of women and girls in Lebanon. Founded in 1976, the RDFL is one of the oldest feminist organizations, one based on volunteerism. RDFL’s vision is to achieve equality between women and men in all spheres and to provide protection from gender-based violence. RDFL’s mission is to work on and advocate for the elimination of gender-based violence and all forms of discrimination, and to achieve full citizenship for women.

The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation has defended women’s rights since 1993. Today, we are one of the world’s leading feminist women’s rights organizations, working directly in areas affected by war and conflict to strengthen the influence and power of all women. We work closely together with around 150 partner organizations in 20 countries to defend women’s rights, achieve gender equality and justice, and reach lasting feminist peace. We work in both conflict-affected and humanitarian contexts, supporting women’s rights and peace building with a long-term perspective.

This request for applications (RFA) invites Local Non-Governmental Organizations (LNGOs) to apply for partnership funding from IRC to create a sustainable exit strategy for women at risk and survivors of gender-based violence (GBV), focusing on long-term empowerment through livelihood services and opportunities. This project will be implemented in Beirut, Mount Lebanon, and the Bekaa and is funded by the World Bank.

The deadline for questions on the RFA is February 2, 2025, and the deadline for applications is February 16, 2025.
