The researcher will conduct a thorough literature review and interviews with relevant stakeholders to highlight the areas challenging NGO engagement with the humanitarian architecture in country. This phase will conclude with a development of a matrix/index that would highlight the different factors and criteria that would be studied in order to identify the areas inhibiting or facilitating engagement. The matrix will also facilitate the development of specific recommendations.

In Lebanon, MedUP! aims at (i) promoting country and cross-country policy, advocacy initiatives and public-private dialogue to create an enabling regulatory and policy environment (macro level); (ii) reinforcing social entrepreneurship support organizations through capacity-building and networking activities (meso level); (iii) providing financial and technical support to 10 social enterprises (micro level).

The EDPU will aim to “to strengthen the ability of the EUTF implementing partners to collectively influence the policy making process and donor funding for Lebanon through policy coordination and evidence generation,” and regularly assess the policy environment to produce policy products targeting key stakeholders and policies impacting livelihoods and economic policy more broadly.

As the one-year anniversary approached, Oxfam plans to produce a one minute animated video that highlights the need of the population, Oxfam’s response, and what comes next.

Produce a short film for online use (no more than 90 seconds) that tells one of the seven stories of Inequality through the lens, and using the voice, of a single character that outlines the narrative rhetoric vs the reality of their lived experience of inequality.

Oxfam in Lebanon and Marsa are implementing a 5-year, Global Affairs Canada (GAC) funded project entitled “Health and Rights for women, Adolescent girls and Children (SRHR)”. Overall, the project aims to increase the enjoyment of health-related human rights by the most marginalized and vulnerable women and adolescent girls in the northern city of Tripoli. This goal will be achieved through (1) Increased equitable use of health services by diverse groups of women and adolescent girls, (2) improved provision of gender-responsive, inclusive and accountable health services by health care providers

SEE Change: Oxfam in partnership with Beyond group and COSV is implementing an EU Regional Trust Fund in Response to the Syrian crisis (EUTF) Funded project entitled “Social Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Change” (SEE Change). As of September 2020, and over the course of three years, the project will be implemented in five different areas in Beqaa, North, South and Mount Lebanon.
