LOST is seeking to recruit a PSS Facilitator in chaat , Ersal .

Key Responsibilities:

Planning and Implementation:

  • Assist outreach teams in identifying and assessing children for PSS activities in the streets and at the Drop-In Center.
  • Evaluate and prioritize the needs/issues of the targeted children.
  • Register and enroll children in PSS activities.
  • Plan, organize, and lead activities, encouraging full participation from all children.
  • Develop an action plan for PSS activities and interventions based on a group intervention approach.
  • Ensure timely execution of activities for successful project implementation.
  • Conduct periodic sessions, evaluate each with children and the Drop-In Center Coordinator.
  • Adjust sessions based on feedback and continuously refine approaches and exercises.
  • Manage difficult behaviors, understanding their root causes for effective communication.
  • Ensure children are not exposed to harm or stress during activities.
  • Promote child participation and ensure activities are conducted in child-friendly locations.
  • Document feedback and provide regular progress reports to the project manager.
  • Keep parents informed about their child's progress and interactions.
  • Ensure awareness of accountability/complaint mechanisms among children and caregivers.
  • Establish or support community-based child protection committees.
  • Plan and manage materials and support needed for interventions weekly.
  • Assist in developing new PSS methodologies and monitoring/evaluation tools.
  • Update PSS tools to ensure relevance and accuracy per LOST and Inter-Agency guidelines.
  • Modify sessions based on caregiver and child feedback to adapt to changes.
  • Represent LOST in relevant PSS trainings and field visits.
  • Identify and advocate for PSS-related issues.
  • Prepare all necessary materials for activities, ensuring clean, safe, and hazard-free locations.
  • Ensure proper use and storage of materials.
  • Establish intervention schedules for each group.
  • Identify and refer children at risk per LOST procedures.
  • Verify beneficiary lists and attendance.
  • Promote services and establish positive relationships with beneficiaries.
  • Ensure effective engagement of children with disabilities in PSS activities.
  • Participate in LOST advocacy and campaigns, such as back-to-school and child labor initiatives.

Communication and Coordination:

  • Maintain close coordination with caseworkers.
  • Foster a positive atmosphere with colleagues, children/youth, and caregivers.
  • Communicate effectively with technical teams and managers, sharing ideas and observations.
  • Participate in donor visits, ensuring proper preparation and execution.
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders, partners, and municipalities.

Organizational Policies:

  • Adhere to and promote LOST’s Code of Conduct, Child Safeguarding Policy, PSEA Policy, and Policy on Gender and Diversity, reporting any potential breaches promptly.
  • Comply with and promote all other LOST policies and procedures, including Internal Regulations and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Actively participate in weekly and monthly coordination meetings.
  • Ensure "Do No Harm" principles are upheld in all PSS engagements.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the line manager that are compatible with the role.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or Specialized Education.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with children, particularly high-risk or refugee/vulnerable populations.
  • Knowledge in Child Protection.
  • Strong facilitation and organizational skills.
  • Motivated team player.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, including active listening.

Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) is everyone’s responsibility and all staff are required to adhere to the code of conduct, that enshrines the principles of PSEA, always (Both during work hours and outside work hours). Familiarization with, and adherence to, the code of conduct is an essential requirement of all staff, in addition to related mandatory training. All staff must ensure that they understand and act in accordance with this clause.
