Project Background

Amel is implementing a Livelihood Project aimed at enhancing economic opportunities for disadvantaged communities. As part of this initiative, Amel seeks to provide targeted training in soft and employability skills to equip participants with the competencies needed to secure and succeed in employment.

Amel, in collaboration with Life-France, is launching an extension of 2023 successful project aimed at enhancing the employability skills of approximately 100 youths in the Beirut Mount Lebanon area. This initiative seeks to improve job opportunities for participants by providing comprehensive digital training in two key areas: digital marketing and content creation. Additionally, participants of this year, will receive essential employability and life skills training to further prepare them for the market.

Professional trainers will use the same curriculum of last year with some adjustment according to the profile and needs of this year participants, ensuring alignment with both the interests of the participants and current job market demands. The project will be conducted again this year in Hay el sellom community development center of Amel. Targeting a diverse group of young women and men aged between 18 and 35 from various backgrounds and nationalities.

Over a seven-month period, each participant will engage in a minimum of 200 hours of internship experience and submit a final short narrative report to successfully complete the program and earn a certificate from Amel (attendance certificate). This project not only aims to enhance technical skills, but also to foster a sense of empowerment and improved well-being among participants, facilitating their smoother transition into the labor market.

Responsibilities, Tasks and Duties: 

 

- The trainer will develop a comprehensive training curriculum that covers key soft skills (example, communication, teamwork, problem solving) and employability skills (example, resume writing , interview techniques);

- He/she will facilitate engaging and interactive training sessions, workshops, and one-on-one coaching to participants if needed;

- He/she will assess the participant’s progress and provide feedback to ensure the training meets their needs and improves their employability;

- He/she will create and provide training materials, and resources that support skill development;

- He/she will prepare and submit a monthly report on training activities, participant’s progress, challenges, success stories, and outcomes to the social worker and project coordinator.

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements: 

 

  • - Bachelor degree in education, psychology, and any related field;
  • - Strong presentation and communication skills;
  • - Experience working with vulnerable communities and population is a plus;
  • - Experience in designing and delivering effective training programs;
  • - Desirable two years of relevant experience, previous experience in an NGO and humanitarian field is an advantage, preferably in Livelihood;
  • - To believe in concepts of equity, human rights, neutrality and impartiality;
  • - Commitment to Amel Association’s values and UNHCR’s values and Code of Conduct;
  • - Respect people privacy and ensure confidentiality of the information shares.
