Terms of Reference (ToR) for Communication Consultancy

Women Now’s vision is of a society in which all people benefit from full human rights, dignity, freedom and justice; in which women play a meaningful and active role in political, social, cultural and economic life; and in which girls are protected from harm and safe to develop and grow. Our mission is to initiate programs led by women that protect women and girls across socio-economic backgrounds,empowering women to find their political voice and participate in building new, peaceful societies that respect and safeguard equal rights for all its citizens.

 

In line with our ongoing efforts to strengthen our communication capabilities, Women Now seeks to contract a communication consultant to build the capacity of our communication team.

The consultant will be responsible for steering the team toward developing a comprehensive communication strategy and develop a training program aiming at enhancing Women Now visibility on social media platforms.

 

2. Purpose of the Training

The purpose of this training is to increase Women Now visibility on social media through equipping Women Now’s communication team by the necessary tools and enhancing their knowledge and skills in digital marketing. The training will help improve the organization’s outreach in raising awareness on public issues, and advocate for causes related to women, girls, and gender equality.

 

3. Scope of Work

The consultant will be responsible for:

  • Designing and facilitating 2 main workshops for 3 days each for 5 employees from several departments within Women Now. First workshop: Communication Strategy, Second workshop: In-depth workshop on social media marketing.
  • Developing and delivering training materials and tools.
  • Providing pre- and post-training assessments to measure the impact of the workshops.
  • Guiding the team in developing a communication strategy and provide tools for content creation on social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and YouTube).
  • Establishing metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of communication and which social media platforms best suit Women Now.

                    

4. Key Training Components

The training will cover the following topics:

Communication Strategy:

  • Introduction to digital marketing types
  • Principles of effective communication.
  • Audience analysis and message tailoring.
  • Developing key messages.
  • Communication management during crisis and emergency.
  • Co-creation of a communication strategy for Women Now

 

Social Media Marketing

  • Overview of major social media platforms.
  • Best practices for social media engagement.
  • Content creation and curation techniques.
  • Using analytics and insights to measure social media performance.

 

5. Deliverables

The consultant is expected to deliver the following:

 

  • Methodology: Training methodology including timeframe and pedagogical learning objectives.
  • Communication Strategy: review of the Communication strategy created at the end of the mission
  • Assessment Tools: Tools for pre- and post-training evaluations, including feedback forms.
  • Metrics: an analysis of social media posts insights pre and post the implementation of the mission 
  • Final Report: A report summarizing the training outcomes, assessment results, and recommendations.

 

6. Timeline

The training is expected to take place over six (6) days. Below is a proposed timeline upon signing:

  • Workshop Preparation: 1st week.
  • Workshop Delivery: 2nd and 3rd weeks.
  • Assessment and Reporting: 4th week.

 

7. Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Bachelor degree in Communications, Public Relations, Social Media, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing communication and digital marketing strategies for humanitarian organizations.
  • Extensive knowledge of social media platforms and analytics.
  • Strong facilitation and training skills.
  • At least three years of experience in communication strategy and social media management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic.

 

8. Remuneration range:

  • The remuneration range for this consultancy is >1000 (USD)
