Midwife- Deir Al Ahmar PHC( Bekaa)

Main tasks and duties:

• Taking care of the beneficiaries’ files in terms of completing the basic health information in the beneficiary card, specifying the type of service required and the health history.
• Providing advice to beneficiaries, this enhances delivery services at the center and contributes to improving their well-being.
• Awareness and education about everything related to reproductive health and its services.
• Advising and guiding the use of contraceptive methods and taking the necessary measures according to the evolving status of the beneficiary (s) to prevent sexually transmitted diseases.
• Providing family planning counseling with the aim of helping the beneficiary make a free, knowledge-based decision regarding whether or not to adopt a family planning method.
• Helping the beneficiary, through counseling, to choose the contraceptive method that you want that is appropriate for her personally and healthily, so that she knows how to use it and can use it correctly in a safe and effective manner.
• Contributing to emphasizing the role of safe and effective family planning methods to avoid unwanted pregnancy, and thus to preventing the need to resort to abortion.
• IUD placement, monitoring and removal.
• Monitoring pregnant women periodically during their pregnancy and encouraging them to carry out the four free surveys provided by "MEDAIR".
• Prepare for childbirth by training the pregnant woman for special exercises in addition to physical care and physical hygiene.
• Educating a pregnant woman about the importance of following up a pregnant woman and observing it in order to avoid complications of pregnancy.
• Promoting exclusive breastfeeding, its importance and benefits.
• Instruct the mother and father on responsive parenting.
• Informing and encouraging mothers on the importance of vaccinating their children.
• Encouraging the female beneficiaries the postpartum period consultation, especially within two weeks of the birth, in order to provide the necessary health care.
• Home visits when needed.
• Providing Group Awareness Sessions in the center on Reproductive and Sexual Health Topics.
• Taking vital signs for the patients such as blood pressure, and pulse, writing this in the medical file, and controlling the weight.
• Provide education to the beneficiaries.
• Giving medicines, injections, and appropriate family planning methods.
• Requesting the necessary laboratory tests.
• Commitment to maintain the safety and comfort of co-workers at the center and its beneficiaries, and to maintain a safe environment for themselves and others in coordination with the director of the center.
• Preparing and implementing health education promotion projects.
• Respecting working hours according to the center's policy.
•  Having good behavior, effective positive communication, and handling pressure and workload.
• Work to develop self-performance and the performance of others.
• Respecting and appreciating patients and maintaining professional ethics.

Qualifications and experience required:

• Bachelor of midwifery.
• Permission to practice the profession from the Ministry of Health in Lebanon.
• Have experience as a midwife at a health facility.
• Good interpersonal and communication/communication skills, as well as social skills.
• Basic computer skills (electronic medical file, Excel, Powerpoint, Word).
• Fluency in Arabic in addition to English.

• From 8:00 am till 2:00 pm
