Helem is the first LGBTQIA+ rights organization in the Arab world, officially established in Beirut, Lebanon in 2001. Its mission is to lead the struggle for the liberation of Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Intersex, Transgendered, Queer (LGBTQIA+), and other people with non-conforming sexualities and/or gender identities in Lebanon and the SWANA region from all sorts of violations of their individual and collective civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights. Our goal is to empower young LGBTQIA+ leaders to advocate for their own liberation. We seek to create initiatives and spaces where our communities can leverage unity through diversity and build power. We protect and support individuals with the resources to resist the harm caused by homophobia and transphobia. We empower our youth through education and community building and mobilize to change the laws, policies, and practices that deny us equality and reduce our quality of life.

The SRHR Content Creator will design and manage engaging online training materials on sexual and reproductive health specifically for the LGBTIQ community. This role involves creating evidence-based workshop content, developing visually engaging presentation materials, and providing detailed trainer notes and additional resources. They will also plan workshop agendas, create evaluation tools to measure effectiveness, and write promotional course descriptions. 

 The SRHR Content Creator will be responsible for designing engaging and informative training material on sexual and reproductive health for the LGBTIQ community. They will be responsible for generating accurate SRHR training materials that will be used in the academy training program’s online platform. These materials will be used exclusively for online workshops, aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of participants, students and professionals in SRHR topics.

Objectives of the Position

The SRHR Content Creator will be responsible for designing engaging and informative training material on sexual and reproductive health for the LGBTIQ community. They will be responsible for generating accurate SRHR training materials that will be used in the academy’s online platform. These materials will be used exclusively for online workshops, aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of participants in SRHR topics.

Key Responsibilities

1. Content Development:

  •    Workshop Content: Create and curate detailed content for an online course on SRHR topics for queer, trans and gender non-conforming individuals. Content should be relevant, evidence-based, contextual, accurate, and aligned with the latest and best practices in SRHR.
  •    Presentation Materials: Develop a comprehensive set of slides, graphs, and audio-visual materials to support the workshop content. Ensure that all materials are visually engaging and educationally effective.

2. Training Resources:

  •    Presentation Notes/Toolkit: Provide meticulous presentation notes and/or toolkits for trainers and facilitators. This should include references to materials, tips for answering questions, and guidance on facilitating discussions.
  •    Addendum Materials: Create comprehensive addendum materials and further reading resources related to each workshop topic. These should be available in both print and digital formats.

3. Workshop Planning:

  •    Agenda: Design a detailed agenda for each workshop that reflects the optimal division of information and aligns with the workshop’s objectives.
  •    Monitoring and Evaluation: Develop and provide monitoring and evaluation tools in coordination with the MEAL Coordinator to assess the effectiveness of each workshop. This includes pre and post-tests, as well as other evaluation tools as necessary.

4. Promotional Materials:

  •    Course Description/Summary: Write clear and comprehensive course descriptions and summaries for each workshop section. These will be used in promotional materials to attract and inform potential participants.

Collaboration:

  •    Graphic Designer: Work closely with a graphic designer to create all audio-visual materials for the workshop, including PowerPoint presentations, addendums, and other related resources.
  •    Learning Management System: Work closely with the LMS responsible for implementing and transforming these workshop materials into an online, digital form.  

Deliverables

  • Workshop Content: Detailed content for online training sessions.
  • Presentation Materials: Slides, graphs, and digitized audio-visual materials.
  • Presentation Notes/Toolkit: Comprehensive notes and toolkits for trainers and facilitators.
  • Addendum Materials: Digital resources for further reading related to the content of the training (Ex. books, articles, videos, infographics, podcasts, etc.)
  • Agenda: Detailed workshop agenda.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation Tools: Pre and post-tests and other evaluation tools.
  •  Course Description/Summary: Descriptions and summaries for promotional use.
  •  Collaboration Outputs: Finalized audio-visual materials in collaboration with the graphic designer.

 

Required Qualifications

  • - Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Public Health, Education, Gender Studies, etc.). Advanced degrees or certifications in SRHR and Gender Studies are a plus.
  • - Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in content creation, instructional design, or similar roles, with a strong focus on SRHR and queer theory.
  • - Skills: 
  •   Expertise in SRHR topics and best practices.
  •   Proficiency in creating educational materials and using presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint).
  •   Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
  •   Ability to work collaboratively with graphic designers and other stakeholders.
  •   Experience in developing monitoring and evaluation tools.
