Description: 

The Senior Case Management Officer will oversee and ensure the effective implementation of case management services within the "SHIELD 6" project. This role includes supervising case management activities, supporting case workers, and ensuring that all cases receive comprehensive care and follow LOST’s protocols. The Senior Case Management Officer will also play a crucial role in capacity building, data management, and coordination with other project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervision & Monitoring: Oversee the entire Case Management process, ensuring that all cases are managed efficiently and that the case workers are supported in delivering high-quality services to beneficiaries.

Documentation & Confidentiality: Ensure that all case documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and stored in compliance with data protection and confidentiality policies. Conduct regular reviews of case files and databases.

Staff Management: Monitor and review staff caseloads to ensure they are manageable. Identify challenges and collaborate with senior management to address any issues.

Case Support: Provide direct support to complex cases as needed and ensure regular monitoring of all case management activities.

Capacity Building: Work closely with the Case Management Specialist to identify gaps in staff capacity and contribute to developing and implementing training plans to address these gaps.

Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze trends in case management to provide insights that inform project programming. Prepare and submit regular reports as required.

Coordination & Collaboration: Facilitate case conferences for complex cases, ensuring the involvement of relevant stakeholders. Ensure effective communication and coordination with the CP Project Manager, CP field team, and other sectors.

Resource Management: Ensure that the case management team has access to the necessary materials and logistical support. Collaborate with the Project Manager to set eligibility criteria for material distribution.

Safeguarding: Ensure that all case management staff are trained on child safeguarding protocols. Promptly report and address any concerns related to child protection.

Meetings & SOP Implementation: Conduct weekly case management meetings to disseminate important information. Ensure the implementation of internal and National SOPs, guidelines, and referral mechanisms.

Technical Support: Provide ongoing technical advice and support to case workers, ensuring that all identified and referred cases are followed up within the agreed time frame.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Pedagogy, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in case management, preferably in a supervisory role. Experience working with children and in a cross-cultural environment is highly desirable.

NGO Experience: Prior experience working in an NGO setting is a strong advantage.

Skills: Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Requirements:

  • Proven experience in managing a team and supporting staff development.
  • Strong understanding of child protection principles and best practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders and maintain a high standard of professionalism.
