The René Moawad Foundation (RMF) is seeking to recruit a “Case Worker” for “Upscaling Shelter, Food Security, Protection, and GBV services to extremely vulnerable individuals in North-Lebanon and Akkar” Project supported by OCHA Lebanon through Lebanon Humanitarian Fund (LHF).

The Case Worker will be responsible for providing social services ensuring in line with key child protection principles including best interests of the child, confidentiality, do no harm and child participation. The case worker will work closely with at high risk of harm providing case management services in line with Lebanon’s Standard Operating procedures, and Global minimum standards of child protection case management. The case worker will work in North Lebanon and Akkar governorates conducting home visits, weekly and/or daily follow up on project’s cases; and monitoring cases’ progress in line with case action plans. The case worker will also be responsible for closely coordinating with relevant external agencies for service provision and referrals to national mechanisms to report cases of children at high risk of harm as per the National SOP’s in order to ensure the child’s best interests. Throughout the implementation of the program the case worker will be committed to supporting the National system through coordination, exploring opportunities for collaboration, information sharing on services, in addition to adhering to National policies, legal framework etc.

Major Responsibilities: 

  • Identify cases of at high risk of harm;
  • Provide case management services and maintain excellent documentation of files in line with the National Standard Operating Procedures for case management & Global Child Protection Case Management Guidelines;
  • The case worker will assume full responsibility to assess the level of risk that a child is exposed to, and immediately report any cases that could evolve into high risk cases to the leader of the case management unit at RMF;
  • Represent RMF well by maintaining regular communication with external referral agencies for service provision, & understanding the relevant criteria;
  • Remain abreast of developments in the field of service provisions, which includes maintaining and updating spreadsheet with mapped services and focal points for service provisions;
  • Participate actively in weekly case management team meeting remaining open to feedback and self-reflection; and,
  • Ensure full responsibility and accountability –for maintaining, drafting and updating reports which include case management reports.

Job Requirements:

  • Demonstrate determination, focus and dedication to seeing through complex and time- consuming processes.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills when assessing approaches to advocating for services.
  • University degree in psychology, social work, human rights, or related degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in working in case management.
  • Demonstrate understanding of working with children and particularly vulnerable children.
  • Personal qualities: Great teammate, flexible, solutions-oriented, network-builder, able to handle pressure well and work in cross-cultural setting.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English.
