To enhance coordination and establish strong reporting mechanisms among partners across various programs inside ARCPA/JANA Makani Center. The MAKANI Center Coordinator leads the coordination of activities and executes program communication and outreach strategies. The position involves managing information, facilitating internal operations, and maintaining/building close collaborations with lead partners while overseeing the MAKANI platform and referral pathway.  

ARCPA/AL-JANA Center has a zero-tolerance policy for any form of exploitation, sexual abuse, or maltreatment in any context or at any time. A thorough assessment will be conducted on the successful candidate’s past behavior and performance in previous roles to ensure no involvement in such serious violations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

The MAKANI Center Coordinator will coordinate and supervise all activities taking place in the MAKANI Centre at Wadi Zeini.

  1. Work with the center supervisor and program coordinators to design a timetable of activities in the center, as well as develop a plan for monitoring the quality and impact of those activities. 
  2. Coordinate with outreach workers and volunteers to identify vulnerable children in the gathering and host events to promote the work of the center, to the local community.  
  3. Collect the logistic needs of the centers and act accordingly to ensure the center is fully equipped and meets the needs of the programs (make procurement requests, check stock, support the delivery of goods to the center etc.)  
  4. Support organizing regular meetings with the center staff in order to ensure the correct implementation of the program according to the working plan. Work together with the staff to regularly review and update the work plan, when needed. 
  5. The Makani Center Coordinator with the activities supervisors should regularly identify capacity building needs of the center staff and report these needs. should make sure all center staff are training child protection and other basic requirements.
  6. Be responsible for collecting all beneficiary data (child registration forms, child attendance forms, child progress forms etc.) and sharing it on a monthly basis.  
  7. Develop and implement strategies to foster community engagement and participation in MAKANI Centre activities
  8. 7. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of services and programs at the MAKANI Centre.
  9. 8. Monitor and evaluate the impact of MAKANI Centre activities on the target community, providing regular reports to the management team.
  10. 9. Provide support to MAKANI Centre staff, including volunteers and facilitators.
  11. 10. Represent the organization in related meetings and events.
  12. 11. Ensure compliance with the organization’s relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
  13. 12. Undertake any other duties as assigned by the coordinator and management team.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., social work, community development, education, etc.) is required.
  • Preferred: At least three years of supervisory experience in community development, program coordination, or a related field.
  • Highly desirable: Experience working with vulnerable populations, particularly Palestinian children and youth.
  • Priority will be given to candidates residing in the Wadi Zeini or surrounding areas with strong experience in programme coordination and working in similar context.
  • Essential: Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and multidisciplinary team.
  • Full knowledge of child protection policy and commitment to all its terms, and the prevention of any kind of violence or exploitation of either gender.

  • Proficiency in relevant languages (e.g., Arabic, English, etc.).
