The Opportunity

The Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL) Officer will be based in East area office as a member of the Food Security and livelihood team, the FSL officer will ensure and monitor the implementation of Livelihood activities in the bekaa area and ensure that humanitarian needs are identified and addressed on an ongoing basis.

The FSL officer will ensure that the implementation plan is set and that activities are implemented in line with the plan and are of a high technical quality, that monitoring is conducted on time, that reporting is high-quality, timely, and reflects actual figures from the field, and that the programme implementation is continually assessed, critical path identified, and Contingency solutions quickly put in place for any changes in context.

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

In order to be successful you will bring/have:

  • Degree in Economics, International Relations, Development studies or similar field
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in development programs, preferably working in food security and livelihoods, and with experience in cash programs.
  • Experience in managing a team
  • Good time management skills
  • Experience in data collection
  • Experience in field work and community mobilization; and in training groups of beneficiaries
  • Computer skills (especially Excel)
  • Strength in interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Develop self and others: Invest time and energy to actively develop self and others to help realize their full potential and to build the organization’s capability for the future.
  • Delivering results: Take personal responsibility and holds others accountable for delivering our ambitious goals for children continually improving their performance.

  • Food Security & Livelihood in emergencies
  • Community-based participatory approach
  • Familiar with livelihood counseling.
  • Familiar with financial counseling and cash-based programs.
