Jafra in partnership with Deutsche Welthungerhilfe e. V. (WHH), conducting a project supported by BMZ forStrengthening women's livelihoods and increasing the resilience of vulnerable communities engaged in smallholder and subsistence farming” with a specific focus on the Palestinian camps in Beirut and in the South. For which the Food Production Technical Advisor will be appointed for.

Objective

 

The objective of this appointment is to efficiently manage and oversee the Food Production operations, ensuring the development and implementation of a comprehensive curriculum for beneficiaries. Key responsibilities include designing a curriculum with clear learning objectives, developing a timely Food Production plan, overseeing daily operations, maintaining detailed records, ensuring compliance with health and quality standards, and promoting safety among beneficiaries. Conduct training sessions, supervise beneficiaries, select food items based on crops and seasons, design parcel ingredients according to nutritional requirements, specify raw materials and equipment, inspect the quality of delivered materials, provide monthly reports perform other duties as required. The overall aim is to facilitate a successful and sustainable Food Production program while promoting the well-being and development of beneficiaries.

 

 

 

Qualifications and experience

The Food Production Technical Advisor should have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Food Science and Production or another related field
  • Experience: 1-2 years in food production and processing
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse team members
  • Enthusiastic and empathetic

 

Position Responsibilities:

The Food Production Technical Advisor will:

  • Design a curriculum with clear learning objectives and outcomes.
  • Develop a timely Food Production plan
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Food Production as the developed plan
  • Keep detailed records and supporting documents regarding beneficiaries
  • Assist in the development of budgets and timelines.
  • Ensure that the food Production is meeting health, sanitation, and quality standards.
  • Ensure that the Food Production beneficiaries are following the safety instructions and using the distributed safety materials.
  • Responsible for coordinating shifts, arranging schedules, and monitoring the beneficiaries’ performance.
  • Conduct food production training for the beneficiaries at Jafra centers
  • Supervise the beneficiaries after finishing the training and supervise them in order to produce the food items on monthly based.
  • Select the food items to be produced depending on the crops and season
  • Design the parcel ingredients depending the crops and season per macronutrients & micronutrients requirements
  • Specify the needed raw materials, tools, and equipment (type, quality, and quantity) with delivery schedules
  • Inspect the quality of the delivered raw materials.
  • Provide monthly report and evaluations to keep track on beneficiaries’ progress and outcomes.
