Function responsibilities include:

Provide health care related to gynecology and obstetrics to patients, including prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

Ensure the implementation of MSF clinical policies, tools, guidelines, and protocols related to gynecology and obstetrics in order to minimize clinical risk and to extend best reproductive practices.

In collaboration with other medical colleagues, carry out the collection of quantitative gynecological data and ensure exhaustive use of management tools in order to improve gynecological results and to share knowledge among other field specialists.

Plan and supervise the HR associated processes (recruitment, training, performance evaluation, development and internal/external communication) of the gynecological staff in order to ensure both an efficient sizing and the amount of knowledge required, to improve people’s capabilities and their active participation in influencing the targeted population using preventive practices. This will be done in close coordination with the HR department.

Supervise the maintenance and running of the gynecological equipment and drug consumption, preparing new orders when required and ensuring its rational use as well as that pharmacy stock levels are permanently updated and available. This will be done in cooperation with the pharmacist and logistic staff, the management.

 

Specific Accountabilities

Perform routine ultrasounds in Arsal and Hermel PHCs as per MSF and national guidelines.

Diagnose anomalies of pregnancy and advise therapeutic plan or referral.

Recommend follow-up of complicated cases according to MSF/National guidelines

Document findings in medical records.

Participate in capacity-building through theoretical and hands-on trainings, and support midwives to extend their skill set.

Contribute to data collection and bi-monthly situational reports (focusing on Ultrasonography and referral records)

In collaboration with the midwives, the biomed technician, and the midwife activity manager, ensure the good use of the Ultrasounds machine in use and report timely any discrepancies or defect seen.

Liaise with midwives and multidisciplinary teams to provide care to patients with higher risk, or complications.

 

Requirements

 

Education         

Essential: Gynecologists' degree from a recognized university.

Essential: Ministry of public health practice license as doctor in Lebanon.

Essential: Certificate of registration at the Lebanese order of physicians (as a specialist).

 

Experience          

Essential: At least 2 years of certified work experience in Gynecology.

Desirable: Previous experience with  local and/or international NGOs.

 

Languages        

Essential: Full professional proficiency using the Arabic and English Language.

Desirable: Elementary to limited professional proficiency using the French Language.

 

Knowledge        

Essential: Basic to intermediate computer literacy using MS-office applications (MS-Word, MS-Outlook, MS-Excel).
