Psychologist

General objective of the job: will be responsible for providing mental health services and support to children with mental health problems and disabilities in a community center setting. in compliance with War Child policies.
Position in the organization: The psychologist will be under service provider agreement, and part of the program quality department, with no staff management.
Responsibilities
1. Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to identify and evaluate mental health concerns and disabilities in children.
2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, collaborating with other professionals and caregivers to ensure holistic care.
3. Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to children with mental health problems, incorporating age-appropriate and culturally sensitive approaches.
4. Collaborate with parents, guardians, and other caregivers to offer support and guidance in managing and addressing their child's mental health needs.
5. Work closely with the interdisciplinary team at the community center, including social workers, special education professionals, other therapists, to coordinate and integrate services for optimal client outcomes.
6. Provide crisis intervention and support as needed, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for children facing acute mental health challenges.
7. Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and professional development activities to foster collaboration and ongoing learning.
8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, treatment plans, and interventions, ensuring compliance with relevant legal and ethical standards. And ensure a proper reporting (in English)
Qualifications:
1. Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology.
2. State licensure as a psychologist.
3. Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic interventions for children.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic diversity.
6. Preferably previous experience working with children/refugees/vulnerable populations.
7. Fluency in Arabic
