The General Practitioner (GP) will play a vital role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating adolescent and adult beneficiaries at Restart Center. The GP will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care, ensuring adherence to Restart Center’s SOPs and policies.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

•Conduct thorough assessments of adolescent and adult beneficiaries through interviews, observations, tests, and medical history reviews to ensure accurate diagnoses.

•Conduct comprehensive screening and treatment plans tailored to each beneficiary’s needs.

•Prescribe medications, order necessary tests (including laboratory and radiology tests), and refer beneficiaries to appropriate specialists or services as needed.

•Discharge beneficiaries from the program when they are stable and refer them to other centers to sustain their stability, following Restart Center’s SOPs.

•Follow up with beneficiaries to monitor their progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.

•Thoroughly document each beneficiary’s diagnosis, symptoms, medications, and treatment effectiveness.

•Ensure compliance with Restart Center’s documentation requirements, including record sheets, pre/post-tests, and other necessary paperwork.

•Develop general health reports upon request.

•Provide psychoeducation to beneficiaries and their families to ensure their understanding of the diagnosis and treatment plan.

•Adopt evidence-based practices and stay up-to-date on new medical findings and interventions.

•Consult with other medical professionals in the team, including nurses and psychologists, to ensure comprehensive care.

•Participate in meetings and case studies with Coordinators, medical team, social worker, psychologist, and other multidisciplinary team members.

•Follow Restart Center’s policies and bylaws, including the zero-tolerance policy against Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA).

Education Degree Details:
Licensed General physician or ER (completed all the necessary registration with the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health and the Lebanese Order of Physicians). •Demonstrates a high level of professionalism, cultural sensitivity, objectivity and empathy when dealing with beneficiaries under all circumstances. •Previous experience working in an NGO context or with vulnerable populations is an asset. •Previous experience working with a multidisciplinary team. •Mastery of Pharmacology and willingness to base prescriptions on the recommended MoPH list of general health medications. •Clear understanding and execution of the “do no harm” and “non-discrimination” principles. •Ability to work in different settings (center-based and community-based). •Considerable work experience (3-6 years) in a clinical setting. Working with marginalized communities of diverse backgrounds (torture survivors, SGBV survivors, prisoners, refugees and so forth) is an asset. •Fluency in verbal and written Arabic and English (understanding of French is an asset). •Knowledge and understanding of the Human Rights and the Child Rights Convention (laws and practices).
