About NAHNOO
NAHNOO is a Lebanese registered Non-Governmental Organization working since 2009 as a research and advocacy platform for participatory policymaking, towards an inclusive society in Lebanon. The NGO rallies volunteers across Lebanon and through multidisciplinary and participatory research, capacity-building workshops, and grassroots activities, we provide a platform for youth and professionals to lead the planning and implementation of advocacy campaigns and gain the skills needed to impact policy-making at the local and national levels.

Job Description
General role
The goal of the Communication department is to raise the visibility, strengthen the reputation and extend the reach of NAHNOO’s mandate through clear, consistent and constant communication.
NAHNOO is looking for a full time Communication Officer (CO) to handle NAHNOO’s external communications activities so as to increase the visibility and outreach for all activities of the organization and create the highest impact on our audience and beyond.
The CO creates creative content (written & visual) related to all our campaigns and projects and delivers our messages in the most efficient and accurate way, reflecting NAHNOO’s voice and image via our online (social media channels, emails, websites…) and offline presence (press releases and media relations).

Key Responsibilities:
Digital presence & visibility : Manage & plan the digital presence of NAHNOO and audience outreach, especially by keeping content on its social media and websites updated
Strategy: design and implement the Communication Media and Visibility strategies for NAHNOO and each of its project based on our advocacy goals and projects specific objectives using research, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification.
Planning: Produce a regular publishing schedule by implementing a content editorial calendar to manage content and plan specific, timely campaigns for advocacy, awareness, informational or educational purpose
Community management: promptly respond to comments and messages in a professional manner adhering to our social media guidelines and regularly update information on NAHNOO’s online platform
Content creation: Create high-engagement content and material that reflects NAHNOO’s voice based on available data and research:
- Copy-writing for online posts
- Visuals : design & photos
- Shorts videos: film, create &/or edit
- Press kits and participate in development of press releases, promotional material, articles etc)
- Communication material for NAHNOO: newsletter and other promotional, contributing to the development of yearly programmatic reports
Communication material: Ensure that NAHNOO’s communication outputs/material are of a high standard and respond to the needs of the target audience (inclusive & public-accessible videos, illustrations, posts, publications layout etc); participates in the production of a diverse range of information products (including audio/visual communications, publications etc)
Documentation: Cover NAHNOO activities and events with for example photos, videos, vox pop, live stream, stories and tweeting as well as PR & reaching out to media to cover our events…
Monitoring and evaluation: Efficiently identify and track target audiences and reach through tracking insights and engagement indicators over our digital platforms and media reach to document, analyze and report, helping improving our reach and visibility and demonstrate (using tools such as media and social media trackers, statistics, online metrics like Google Analytics etc).
Insights and analytical reports are expected on the social media and media campaigns for NAHNOO’s projects and advocacy.
Archiving: Maintain an up-to date multimedia archive of the material produced (videos, audio, visuals, articles etc)
Database: Organize media outreach by registering and filing all media contacts, press briefings, and interviews
Educational & Professional qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Media &/or Journalism or related field combined with academic background in Political Science, International Affairs, Public Policies and similar
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the field of communications with non-profit organizations and/or social enterprises (in relation with international organizations such as the UNDP is a plus)
- High level of understanding of the Lebanese context and public policies issues especially related to Good Governance, Cultural Heritage and Urban Planning/Public Spaces is a must
- Proven experience in the Lebanese media environment relevant to advocacy and awareness
- Proven records of conducting successful media and social media awareness campaigns with high standards of strategical planning
Key skills & competencies:
- Fluent in both Arabic and English (verbal and written)
- Audiovisual and graphic design skills (at least intermediate level)
- Computer literacy on Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc) as well as graphic software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Canvas.
- High level of strategic-thinking
- Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media/social media
- Strong capabilities are essential in research, writing, editing and proofreading
- Confident in public speech, including ability to present concepts verbally
- Demonstrates initiative, strong leadership and team spirit
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude
- Have the capability to create unique communication material and simultaneously manage multiple projects within tight deadline with the ability to prioritize work issues to meet deadlines
