Grants Manager
Description:
Responsibility 1: Fundraising
- Search and assess available funding opportunities.
- Work closely with the team to design, write, and submit competitive funding proposals that are responsive to donor guidelines and requirements, and in line with Ettijahat program strategies and policies.
- Lead on the implementation of the organization’s fundraising strategy, in close collaboration with Ettijahat executive director.
- Support the organization of fundraising events and campaigns.
- Represent Ettijahaht in public forums (cluster meetings, international conferences, donor events, funding competitions) when needed to increase the organization’s visibility.
- Support the training and capacity building to Ettijahat staff on proposal development and reporting.
- Ensure that grant agreements are followed in compliance with donor regulations.
- Lead all reporting processes, working closely with the programme and finance teams to ensure the submission of clear, concise, and timely narrative and financial reports.
- Maintain reporting calendars and grants application schedules, and to research opportunities for new grants, donors, fundraising platforms, and business development.
Responsibility 2: Grants Management
- Establish grants management systems and ensure that Ettijahat staff are aware of the contractual programmatic and financial requirements of donors, including deadlines and deliverables.
- Create, maintain and follow up on M&E tools to generate donor and internal reports.
- Lead or support the preparation and submission of program reports to donors and other stakeholders, in coordination with Ettijahat staff.
- Ensure comprehensive grant files are maintained up to date and are available for use by key staff.
- Support the training and capacity building to Ettijahat staff on grants management.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, making positive relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent English language writing and editing skills.
- Excellent desk research skills and ability to analyze and synthesize information.
- Proven experience in writing detailed project plans and proposals is required. Experience in sophisticated grant applications such as the EU applications is desirable.
- Comfortable leading on their own work and working alone.
- Very good organizational and time management skills, proactive, self-motivated.
- Extremely organized and reliable.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines.
