Under direct supervision of the Country Representative and Project Manager, the Gender Expert will be responsible for leading gender-sensitive research and developing strategies to promote gender equality and social inclusion for the project " MAKANI AID012590/03/8 ". The Gender Expert will work closely with other team members to ensure that gender perspectives are integrated into all aspects of the projects. The Gender Expert will be based in Beirut and will be required travels to COSPE’s areas of Intervention on regular basis.

 

MAIN ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Support in structuring the planned participatory research methodologies to calibrate approaches to the context of intervention.
  • Conduct gender analyses to inform project and activity design, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Analyze and synthesize data to develop evidence-based recommendations for programmatic interventions.
  • Develop gender-sensitive data collection tools and methodologies.
  • Support in the identification of women to be involved in resource group activities, ensuring a gender perspective and promoting the role of women as agents of change.
  • Support in the elaboration and dissemination of public agendas on women's welfare and economy from a right perspective.
  • Support in the elaboration of a participatory mapping and market analysis of women's economic activities.
  • Develop training materials and facilitate training sessions on gender issues for project staff and partners.
  • Prepare research reports, policy briefs, and other knowledge products for dissemination to stakeholders.
  • Support in the development and dissemination of an advocacy campaign for the promotion of women's social and economic rights.
  • Provide technical expertise on gender-based issues to project staff and partners.
  • Ensure the maintenance of the gender mainstreaming approach in the entire implementation process.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

 

  • Advanced degree in gender studies, social sciences or related fields.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in gender research.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with experience designing and implementing research projects.
  • Knowledge of gender and human rights frameworks, theories, and concepts.
  • Experience in gender analysis, gender-sensitive data collection, and data analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, NGOs, and community-based organizations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
