Position Overview:

This position will be responsible for managing a multifaceted project with two primary components. The first component focuses on implementing sessions on gender equality using a specific curriculum, overseeing community mobilizers and social workers leading this component. The second component involves leading advocacy efforts, campaigns, and related activities, while also coordinating with various partners. Additionally, the role entails reporting, participating in training sessions, and other related tasks. A critical aspect of this role includes adhering to safeguarding requirements and ensuring their integration into project activities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Curriculum Implementation and Community Mobilization:
    • Lead the implementation of sessions on gender equality based on a specified curriculum.
    • Provide guidance and support to community mobilizers and social workers engaged in delivering these sessions.
    • Monitor the progress and effectiveness of sessions, making adjustments as necessary to ensure objectives are met.
    • Foster a collaborative and supportive environment among team members to enhance the impact of community engagement efforts.
  2. Advocacy Leadership:
    • Develop and execute advocacy strategies and campaigns aligned with project goals.
    • Mobilize stakeholders and allies to support advocacy initiatives, including engaging with right-holders, community leaders, and the public.
    • Coordinate with partner organizations to leverage resources and amplify advocacy efforts.
    • Stay updated on relevant issues, policies, and developments to inform advocacy activities effectively.
  3. Partnership Coordination:
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with partner organizations, including NGOs, government agencies, and community groups.
    • Collaborate closely with partners to align advocacy efforts and maximize collective impact.
    • Coordinate joint activities, events, and campaigns to advance shared objectives.
  4. Reporting and Documentation:
    • Prepare regular reports on project activities, progress, and outcomes.
    • Ensure accurate and timely data collection and documentation of project-related information.
    • Contribute to monitoring and evaluation efforts to assess the effectiveness of interventions and inform future strategies.
  5. Training and Capacity Building:
    • Participate in training sessions, workshops, and capacity-building activities as required.
    • Support the development of training materials and resources related to gender equality and advocacy.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members to enhance their skills and effectiveness in their roles.

  • Integrate safeguarding principles and protocols into all project activities and interactions.
  • Promote a safe and inclusive environment that respects the rights and dignity of all individuals, particularly vulnerable populations.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to safeguarding concerns or incidents, following established protocols and procedures.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree (Master’s degree is an asset) in Gender Studies, Political Science, International Affairs and Development, Journalism, or any related field.
  • Proven experience in advocacy, community engagement, and project management, preferably in gender equality or related areas.
  • Strong understanding of gender issues, human rights principles, and advocacy strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and networks.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the capacity to motivate and inspire teams towards shared objectives.
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures, with a commitment to upholding ethical standards and ensuring the well-being of project beneficiaries.
  • Ability to work effectively in multicultural settings and with diverse stakeholders.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English.
