Description:

The Lebanese Observatory for Workers & Employees Rights (LWRO) is a Lebanese independent non-profit organization.

LWRO believes in social justice and seek legal protection for all without discrimination. We are committed to principles supported by the international conventions, declarations, and agreements on human rights and gender justice, particularly, the International Convention for Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, in addition to recommendations set by the International Labor Organization-ILO as a benchmark for practice and vision.

LWRO seeks to achieve its mission and strategic goal that aims at protecting the rights of all workers and employees in Lebanon, by developing gender-sensitive and human rights-based social protection systems and legal frameworks.

Our theory of change works at different pillars guided by the five interrelated principles of social justice: access, equity, participation, gender equality and human rights. Our interventions cover the following: Empowering workers in Lebanon through labor rights literacy and awareness raising; Advocating for inclusive and non-discriminatory labor law, legislation and social protection policies based on gender equality and decent work; Advocating for the democratization of trade union movement.
