Media Officer

Summary  

1MORECUP is seeking to recruit a Media Officer that is responsible for developing scripts, filming, photography, editing short films for social media posts, creating design-related artwork for various projects, and managing a junior designer. Key responsibilities include developing creative and engaging video content, capturing high-quality photographs and videos, editing and producing short films, collaborating with the communications team, monitoring and analyzing media content performance, maintaining an organized archive of media assets, staying up-to-date with digital media trends, and coordinating with a junior designer. The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in a related field, proven experience in scriptwriting, filming, photography, video editing, and proficiency in design software.  

Key Responsibilities  

• Develop creative and engaging scripts for video content that aligns with the organization's mission and objectives.  
• Capture high-quality photographs and videos of activities, events, and other relevant subjects the organization covers.  
• Edit and produce short films and video content for social media platforms, ensuring consistency in style, tone, and messaging.  
• Collaborate with the communications team to develop and implement a comprehensive media strategy.  
• Monitor and analyze the performance of media content, providing recommendations for improvement and optimization.  
• Maintain an organized archive of media assets, ensuring easy access and retrieval for future use.  
• Stay upt-to-date with the latest trends and best digital media production and storytelling practices.  
• Create design-related artwork for various projects, ensuring consistency with the organization's branding and messaging.  
• Manage and coordinate with a junior designer, providing guidance and support as needed.  
• Coordinate with other media workers to ensure a cohesive and effective media strategy.  

Qualifications  

• A bachelor's degree in media production, filmmaking, photography, journalism, communications, or a related field.  
• Proven experience in scriptwriting, filming, photography, and video editing.  
• Proficiency in using video editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools.  
• Strong understanding of social media platforms and their respective content requirements.  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.  
• A strong commitment to gender equality and supporting marginalized communities.  
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.  
• Experience with design and proficiency in design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite.
