Description: 

Women’s Programs Association announces the need for 8 Nurses: 6 in Beddawi camp and 2 in Wavel. To work within the project: “Provision of protection and health services to 720 Elderly Plaestinian Refugees in Nahr El-Bared, Beddawi, and Wavel camps”.
The project is implemented in partnership with Taawon - Funded by UN-OCHA.

 

Duty Station/Location: Beddawi - Al Jaleel Camps

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting regular visits to the elderly beneficiaries and assessing their health status and needs.
  • Providing basic medical services such as checking vital signs, glucose levels and blood pressure, dressing wounds, administering medications, etc.
  • Ensuring proper storage of the medicine and the proper consumption of the medicine as well as offering medical tips to the elderly and their primary caregivers (in case there are) regarding their health situation.
  • Educating the elderly and their caregivers on personal hygiene, nutrition, infection prevention, chronic disease management, etc.
  • Distributing hygiene kits and other medical supplies as needed.
  • Reporting any health issues or protection concerns to the project coordinator and referring the elderly to specialized health services when necessary.
  • Documenting and updating the medical records of the beneficiaries and submitting regular reports on the activities and outcomes of the project.

Skills:

  • Clinical skills: You need to be able to perform various clinical tasks, such as taking vital signs, administering medications, dressing wounds, performing physical assessments, and using medical equipment.
  • Communication skills: You need to be able to communicate effectively with patients, families, colleagues, and other health professionals. You need to be able to listen, empathize, explain, educate, and document.
  • Critical thinking skills: You need to be able to analyze, evaluate, and synthesize information from different sources, such as patient records, test results, and research evidence. You need to be able to make sound clinical judgments and decisions based on the best available data.
  • Teamwork skills

Qualifications

  • Palestinian
  • Residency in Beddawi or Jaleel camps or close to the camp
  • Basic qualifications and experience in the health care field
  • Diploma or degree in nursing from an accredited institution
  • Some clinical experience in a hospital, clinic, or other health care setting
