The Project Assistant will be responsible for providing support on all project aspects: preparing contracts, supporting documents, as well as preparing content and concepts, accompanying and conducting meetings with relevant stakeholders, overseeing logistics and finance and planning. Particularly providing support on the following:
- Support in communicating and coordinating with Lebanese stakeholders and partners;
- Support in conducting background research, analysis and training materials;
- Providing support with proper documentation of activities and project reporting (e.g., donor reports, workshops and activity reports) in coordination with the Project Manager, Senior Advisor and Berghof Representative;
- Providing support with regards to finance and activity coordination, resource planning, administrative management and logistics oversight;
- Liaise and closely coordinate with the finance department to prepare contracts, invoices, service agreements, MoUs, Calls for Proposals, etc.;
- Cooperate closely with BF MENA teams as well as Berlin-based staff members regarding tasks assigned by the project manager;
- Perform additional tasks upon the request of the team
Required skills
- BA within a relevant field such as Political Science, Peace and Conflict Studies, International Relations or similar
- At least 1-2 years of relevant work experience (in project management, research, …)
- Previous experience in local development projects, geared towards social cohesion across Lebanon
- Good understanding of the Lebanese context, as well as experience with local, grassroots organizations
- Excellent verbal and written language skills in Arabic and English, which are both required
- Professional skills in the use of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Teams) complete your profile
- Additional skills:
- Strong ability to work with perseverance as part of a team as well as independently
- Curiosity and strong empathetic/intercultural skills
- Ability to work under time-pressure
