Alternative Beirut Guide

Alternative Beirut is a Beirut based social enterprise and a partner of Jibal NGO for social and environmental justice accross the city. AB was established in the summer of 2015 to provide a holistic, local and complex perspective on Beirut. Its mission is to disseminate knowledge about the city’s complex dimensions using experiences such as walking, learning, team building, networking, branding experiences, incentive programs amongst others. It presents Beirut and other cities from an alternative lens and our experiences adapt to the continuous changes of the city. AB places itself at the cross-roads of tourism, education, sustainability, and social change.

We are seeking passionate and knowledgeable guides to join our team.

- As a guide, you will lead groups of tourists or visitors on tours of our city/attraction.

- You will be responsible for ensuring the safety and enjoyment of our guests, while providing informative and engaging commentary.

- Ideal candidates will have excellent communication skills, a friendly and outgoing personality, and a deep knowledge of the history, culture, and attractions of the area.

- You should be comfortable speaking in front of groups and able to handle unexpected situations that may arise during tours.

- Previous experience as a guide is preferred, but not required. We are willing to train the right candidates who demonstrate enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

- Preferably MSc. Students or recent graduates in Social Sciences.

- Candidates must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
