SENIOR MANAGER - RENEWABLE ENERGY ENGINEER – INARA PROJECT - UPDATED_

DT Global is seeking a Senior Manager - Renewable Energy Engineer for the “Innovation for Affordable and Renewable Energy for All (INARA) Activity” under the Initiative to Deliver Essential Assistance and Services (IDEAS) Project for USAID in Lebanon with DT Global.

Through INARA, USAID seeks to increase the supply of electricity generation at the community level and to increase the cost-effectiveness, eco-friendliness, sustainability, and reliability of power supply, while clarifying and strengthening the enabling environment for renewable energy-based electrical power generation.

The project will run for 5 years and started in September 2021. The position is based in Beirut, Lebanon. This position will start in February as full-time employee contract.

Role and Responsibilities

The Senior Manager is a key member of the technical team reporting to the Infrastructure technical lead. Duties include insuring overall technical excellance not limited to technical oversight on INARA’s Interventions , monitering and Quality Assurance and management of Subcontractors and partners . In addition, s/he shall ensure that all project deliverables are met and delivered in a timely and efficient manner. S/He maintains regular communications with the and coordination with INARA’s procurement,Monitering and Evaluation and Enabeling Environemnt teams. The Senior Manager is responsible for reporting, dreafting, designing technical materials as needed.

Specific duties include: 

• Specific duties include: 

• Oversees all solar interventions under INARA.
• Assess technical and budgetory components for Solar and Hydro.
• Carry out site and ground condition inspections to ensure environmental compliance
• Prepare project plans, schedules of work and cost estimates
• Draft and present technical reports as needed
• Liaise with energy providers, contractors and other engineering professionals
• Complete interconnection drawings, single line diagrams, construction sets, and as-built drawings
• Ability to lead tender preparation and bidding evaluation for subcontractors
• Oversee the construction process until commissioning and completion
• Other duties assigned as needed.

Required and Preferred Qualifications:

• Engineering degree in Electrical, Electromechanical, Power or Energy from an accredited university
• At least 8 years’ experience in RE (both in design and Implementation)
• Prior experience in integrating PV plants (on grid, off grid, and Hybrid)
• Prior Experience in BSS (Battery Storage System)
• Experience working on microgrid preferred
• Experience in using software such as PVSyst (or equivalent)
• Broad knowledge of the Energy sector in Lebanon
• Strong analytical and writing skills
• Good communication skills- fluent in both spoken and written English and Arabic.
