DRC has been responding to various humanitarian crises in Lebanon since 2004, working with Palestinian, Iraqi and Syrian refugees. DRC received registration from the Ministry of Interior in 2011, and since then has focused primarily on responding to the Syrian refugee crisis in Lebanon and the resulting impact on Lebanese host community. DRC Lebanon’s focus is to ensure that we are able to respond to critical emerging humanitarian needs whilst improve the living conditions of displacement-affected populations and contribute to the achievement of durable solutions. With an annual portfolio of $12million, and with approximately 200+ staff, DRC is focusing its response in protection and economic recovery (Ec-Rec) sector in Bekka, North Lebanon and Beirut. DRC is also contributing to the evidence base and coordination structures in country through our Evidence Generation and referral information management (RIMs) teams.
About the job
The overall purpose of enumerators is to support the external consultants hired by DRC in conducting a research related to Diaspora’s engagement in Lebanon. DRC’s is interested in improving employment and livelihood opportunities for communities in Baalbak area of Lebanon through engagement with existing or new diaspora business actors and with relevant local and international stakeholders. The enumerators will support with surveys in order objectives of the research to be achieved.
The Enumerators will work in Bekaa and they will be supervised by the Consultants and DRC’s Economic Recovery Teams. The Enumerators will spend most of the working hours on the field.The General Support - Enumerators will be responsible for conducting a survey through Key Informant Interviews and Focus Groups Discussions, proceeding with data recording, cleaning and sharing.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
Responsibilities:
Enumerators will be in charge of conducting in person surveys (through Key Informant Interviews and Focus Groups Discussions) with different samples based on the scope of DRC’s research in Baalbek of Lebanon.
Enumerators will be responsible for the data collection, data recording and data storing according to DRC’s policies and regulations.
Enumerators will participate in the training and preparation before the data collection. The training will focus on research brief, ethical training, interviews techniques, focus group discussions techniques, workshop on questionnaire, Do No Harm, Safe Identification and Referrals. Enumerators should sign DRC’s Code of Conduct and PSEA Policies and respect all the internal procedures and guidelines.
Enumerators should participate in the debriefing with Consultants and data cleaning.
About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to have a Degree in Social Sciences/Politics, Statistical Analysis, Economics, Data Analysis, Sociology or other relevant fields. Moreover, we also expect the following:
Degree in Social Sciences/Politics, Statistical Analysis, Economics, Data Analysis, Sociology or other relevant fields.
Experiences with research company, NGO, or UN Agency in the relevant sectors.
Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic mandatory – French is an asset
Demonstrated proactivity and independence in work.
Actively curious to learn by doing and provide solutions.
Comfortable proactive interaction with individuals, including interviews.
Demonstrating professional competencies and interest for subject matter
Experience with fieldwork, monitoring activities and reporting are essential;
Experience in data collection and data entry is essential;
Good communication and Excellent interpersonal skills;

Self-motivated and good team spirit.
