Overview: 

The Programme Officer will be responsible for the coordination of day-to-day implementation of Lebanon projects as well as identifying the best practices with projects’ partners and other Program Team within the region and shares relevant information with them.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Ensures organized schedule and proper preparation for capacity building activities such as trainings, FGDs and awareness sessions; initiates and follows up necessary actions.
  • Oversees and monitors the delivery and distribution of visibility materials or capacity support such as tool kits to reach targeted audience; works in collaboration with Program Team within region.
  • Collects data on a regular basis to measure achievement against the performance indicators, and maintain and administer the M&E database (including SharePoint and LCM); analyse and aggregate findings.
  • Takes part of regular local and global staff meetings and contributes to data and records collection for the audit process.
  • Site visits and proactive follow up by accompanying the Lebanon Program Manager to field visits to the CBOs and LA’s centers in regions, recording minutes of meetings, taking down action points and checking in with all parties to ensure action points are implemented.
  • Drafts activities reports, justification memos and narrative reports of the projects;Creative problem solving and troubleshooting and able to identify potential challenges and opportunities for improving day to day functionality of the project, and to oversee the implementation of the identified solutions;
  • Forging and maintaining relationships with partners and actors in the field by attending meetings of different consortiums, UN agencies, humanitarian organizations, local and international NGOs and legal and justice actors.
  • Being a positive member of the LA team, including by constructively addressing challenges and resolving disputes.
  • Supports in tracking legal and political developments in local, national, and reginal law and politics to identify those which will have implications for the project. He or she will keep updated on the news and politics from the region, send written updates weekly and discuss pertinent developments during weekly meetings.
  • Assist in coordination with the Finance Manager and HR & Logistics Coordinator to procure items and equipment where necessary.
  • Assists in organizing legal trainings, roundtables, and workshops: Including organizing training materials, writing agendas, printing, translation and facilitation of workshop sessions in Lebanon or regionally.
  • Assists the Lebanon Programme Manager to track fundraising opportunities for LA in the region by conducting research for available funding opportunities within the region on a weekly basis, update LA’s proposal tracker, and ensure senior staff are aware of available opportunities.
  • Assists the Lebanon Program Manager in writing proposals and concept notes.
  • Ensures the preparation, consultation, visibility materials are well defined prior to launching of project with specified timelines and action points.
  • Represents LA at seminars, conferences, meeting and other events.
  • Other project or programme-related duties as specified by the Lebanon Program Manager
