Duties and Responsibilities:
· Engage with Project Manager in implementation of high-quality protection programming such as gender-based violence, PSEA and protection programs across DCL operations,
· Provide technical oversight for the protection interventions, ensuring that the standards agreed on with WFP are adhered to in protection project design and implementation,
· Lead the development and/or review and updating of tools and materials used on the protection projects and interventions of DCL, including monitoring and evaluation tools and databases.
· Establish and drive accountability measures to ensure beneficiaries and affected population feedbacks are available and taken into account about the quality and appropriateness of DCL response and implementation.
· Work with Project Manager to ensure that staff are trained and that the mechanisms in place for reporting safeguarding issues are contextually appropriate.
· Develop policies and tools and provide technical advice in relation to identifying ‘red lines’ and supporting application of humanitarian principles and protection standards in program development and implementation.
· provide an update on existing services and their accessibility for people with specific protection needs.
· Organize capacity building sessions for DCL Employees / Field Officers on protection topics, create and update a protection agenda training for all DCL staff.
· Establish and implement a training evaluation system as pre/post tests to measure DCL staff’s learning level.
· Participate in all protection meetings organized by WFP and other NGOs both online and virtual (location of some of these meetings could be outside the north lebanon area)
· Might coordinate with other NGOs to cover some awareness session’s topics; able to find and mobilize some “Social workers” volunteers to provide awareness sessions to the beneficiaries on site
· Organize focus group discussions with beneficiaries concerning protection
· Ensure that the beneficiaries are all involved in the activity and that children with diverse needs are included and supported equally;
· Identify children/parents in need and refer cases
· Coordinate with school focal points.
· Monitor children during recess times, and before and after activities; support in the distribution of snacks;
· Prepare and Participate in the trainings provided by DCL and ensure that this learning is applied among school focal points and field staff
· Ensure that staff adhere to best-practices, professional standards and principles, and relevant SOPs and guidelines through capacity-building and on-the-job coaching;
· Reports to: in-kind and School Feeding Project Managers
· Immediate Supervise: the helpdesk assistants, and hotline junior assistant
· Focal Point: for PSEA network in Lebanon
Qualifications & Skills:
· Language skills: Fluent in Arabic and English
· Education degree: University degree in social work, community development or another relevant degree;
· Computer skills: good knowledge of Microsoft Office
· Good knowledge in protection and social related topics
· Excellent communication and listening skills in general and additionally with persons of concerns
· Effective stress management
· Ability to work under pressure and with short deadlines
· Good problem-solving skills
· Good knowledge of the humanitarian context in Lebanon
· Excellent ability to work in a team
· Valid driving license is an asset
· Conflict resolution skills
· Communication skills
· Ability to take initiative to deal with challenges
· Well organized, hard worker and fast learner
· A former experience in an NGO is a plus
