Project: Menstrual Hygiene Project

With funding from UN Women and the Government of Japan, ACTED will implement activities tackling period poverty/menstrual hygiene issues. As a part of this, ACTED plans to support a community-based entity to set up a manufacturing facility for the local production of menstrual hygiene products in Bourj Hammoud, Saida and Tripoli. The project will provide support for equipment and raw materials, as well as staffing support to kick start operations and sales. In addition, the project will provide trainings to vulnerable populations working on production & sales..

ACTED is seeking a talented, organized and creative expert to develop and produce creative Branding and Marketing designs and platforms for targeted Social businesses in the 3 geographical areas of the project (Saida,Tripoli and Beirut). He/she will combine marketing and graphic design to create the visual materials and online platforms that represent each MSME. These materials include design of logos, labels, packaging, taglines, brochures and social media channels like Facebook page, Instagram account and more.

This service will be complemented through a sub-granting scheme provided by ACTED.

Specific Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Assess the current situation (needs and gaps) of selected social businesses in terms of sales, branding and marketing designs and online platforms
• Conduct meetings with MSME members to fully understand their needs in this domain
• Develop specific tailored Branding and Marketing designs addressing the social businesses’ needs including logos, slogans, labels, brochures, etc.
• Create/update online platforms for the 3 social businesses, including at least a Facebook page for each social business
• Oversee all marketing initiatives to ensure that developed materials appropriately contribute to brand identity
• Draft a final report outlining all completed activities, achieved results and recommendations per social business
• Provide ad-hoc support to social businesses through answering questions, and providing additional resource materials etc.

Required competencies:

• Bachelor degree in Marketing or related field
• At least 2 years of marketing or design experience at a company or agency
• Deep understanding of how to build a brand from the ground-up
• Previous experience in providing similar services is preferred
• Patience and positive attitude is highly desired
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team
• Excellent Arabic and English skills, both written and oral
• Strong communication skills
• Good presentation skills
• Good reporting skills
• Excellent attention for details
