USAID’s “Quality Instruction towards Access and Basic Education Improvement” (QITABI 2) is a five-year program seeking to improve learning outcomes for all students in public primary schools in Lebanon. Its activity targets an estimated 200,000 girls and boys, including those who are registered in second shifts of public schools.

World Learning has a vacancy for a short-term Consultancy named “Classroom Observation Tools Consultant" for the USAID-funded Quality Instruction towards Access and Basic Education Improvement (QITABI 2) in Lebanon.
This position is for a Lebanese national.
Scope and Responsibilities

The “Classroom Observation Tools Consultant” will be working in close coordination with QITABI 2’s Program manager:
• Provide expertise in developing tools for teacher coaching from Grades 1-12 based on QITABI 2 Classroom Observation tool (G1-G6)
• Provide technical expertise in developing additional areas to the existing QITABI G1-G6 classroom observation tools as needed per subject, content, and best practices in teaching and learning.
• Provide technical input and recommendations to observe specific teacher behaviors in the classroom relevant to using formative and summative assessments.
• Participate in QITABI 2 workshop activities when needed
• Working closely with DOPS focal point during the development of the tool
• Prepare periodic activity and end-of-assignment reports

Required Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in education and preferably in teaching Arabic in Middle and Secondary Schools
• An advanced degree in education Ph.D. in education in the related field
• Proficiency in curriculum mapping and design in addition to developing teachers’ resources
• Ensure safeguarding requirements are applied and reflected in the solicitation and contract as applicable
• Strong analytical and computer and software analysis skills
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize and multitask
• Ability to work as a team player
• Proficiency in spoken/written English and Arabic is essential
