Areas Of Responsibility

The Co-Director (Head of Programme) duties will include: 

Team Leadership & Management: Support the Co-Director (Head of Education) in leading our team of 30 staff. Ensure the development of Objective Key Results (OKRs) in line with CodeBrave's Strategy 2022-24 and ensure regular meetings to assess progress.

Programme Development and Management: Alongside the Co-Director (Head of Education), manage and develop CodeBrave's programme in response to the local context, contributing to a clear strategic vision and theory of change in line with CodeBrave's 2022-24 Strategy. Take responsibility for Risk Management at a programme level, supporting programme and finance staff to analyse and respond to risk.

Monitoring & Evaluation: Overall responsible for the development of a MEAL framework, with support from the Senior Project Manager. Overall responsible for ensuring the development of MEAL plans in close coordination with Project Managers, Technical Officers and local partners, e.g., baseline surveys, regular monitoring, support, and learning visits, annual partner review meetings. Meet with the management team concerning the gathered data analysis to improve programme implementation.

Financial Management: Overall responsible for the management of the expenditure and disbursement of resources, budget design, financial reporting and all other relevant matters. Ensure the preparation of annual budgets and reporting on actual project expenditure. Oversee the Accounting Officer to ensure accounting documentation according to the proper procedures, realisation of annual financial statements and external audit reports. Oversee the work of our external Tax Advisors. With the support of our accounting firm, implement and monitor the internal control system, review key figures & financial reports.

HR Management and Organisation Development: Oversee the work of our HR Officer, ensuring we have adequate human resources. Ensure that the right people are employed for the right positions and that the team is treated according to the principles of the organisational culture. Participate in the recruitment of relevant team members. Demonstrate CodeBrave’s organisational culture through your behaviour. Organise and deliver Culture trainings alongside the Head of Education or HR Manager, as relevant. Support the coordination of capacity building processes for team members.

Governance Structure and Development: With the support of our legal firm, ensure compliance with relevant national legislation and governance best practice. Oversee the risk identification process, ensuring mitigating actions are completed and providing regular updates on risk management to the Board of Trustees. Ensure that board decisions are translated into clear actions.

Grants Management: Overall responsible for the management of grants, timely submission of narrative and financial reports, compliance with donor’ contracts and CodeBrave's policies. Supervise the planning and design of programmes and ensure proposals are in line with donors’ requirements and CodeBrave's policies.

Fundraising: Support the Grant Writing Consultant in applying for grant funding where necessary. Contribute to the fundraising strategy including targeting donors, developing communication material and managing donor relationships. Maintain, develop and nurture new strategic relationships with relevant donors, INGOs and other key actors.

Board Management: Coordinate Board meetings. Ensure CodeBrave benefits from Board members’ expertise through seeking advice and support; provide transparent information to the Board as needed. Provide transparent information to the Board as needed. Ensure that board decisions are translated into clear actions. Present plans, reports and proposals at quarterly board meetings.

Safeguarding: Support the Education Team in delivering upon CodeBrave's safeguarding commitments at an internal and partner level.

Representation: Represent CodeBrave in meetings with donors, government agencies, working groups. Engage in local and international networks.
