Under the direct supervision of Country Director, and in close coordination with the Program Department, the Fundraising / Proposal Writing Officer should help further drive fundraising efforts at Taawon.  He/she will explore new funding opportunities, identify potential donors, develop high-quality concept notes, and project proposals and maintain professional connection with donors.  ​​​​​​​

  • Develop and write high quality, concept notes, project proposals and applications in accordance with donors’ requirements. Prepare logical, coherent, and consistent technical documents including log-frames and budgets. Liaise with the program team for conceptual approach, developing theory of change and the result framework.
  • Contribute to the the development of fundraising strategies and plans, including donor mapping, SWOT analyses and key performance indicators for Taawon Lebanon – ensuring complementarity with requirements of Taawon HQ.
  • Maintain relationships with existing donors and regularly respond to their requests. Prepare donors’ reports ensuring high quality drafts are submitted on time and as per donor format and requirements. Address donor’s queries in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Research funding opportunities; monitor websites of donors and fundraising platforms; explore calls for proposals and guide on follow up action. Propose recommendations to diversify funding base.  
  • Cultivate network of potential donors. Build relationships with contact persons within funding organization.
  • Support the development of information and communication material particularly what is relevant to fundraising appeals and events.
  • Organize and document all communication with donors.  Maintain proper and up-to-date filing of all relevant documents shared with donors including proposals, budgets, reports, letters, and communication material.

 

Coordination tasks

  • Liaise with the different concerned team members at Taawon in Lebanon and HQ
  • Represent Taawon in relevant conferences and meetings as required
  • Undertake regular travel within Lebanon and to the Palestinian refugee camps

 

Required skills, experience, and knowledge: 

  • Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, or similar fields.
  • A minimum of six years of relevant work experience in fundraising and proposal writing out of which experience working with local and international organizations
  • Proficiency in English both oral and written with excellent writing and editing skills
  • Skilled in program design and project planning; accurate and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work under tight deadline
  • High work ethics and committed to professional development
  • Excellent research, organizational and communication skills
  • Openness and ability to manage complexities in a positive and constructive attitude 
  • Good level of proficiency in Windows, Excel and quantitative analysis systems
  • Knowledge of the Palestinian refugee context in Lebanon is an asset
