  • Working Relationships: Sponsors, Legal counsel, Community and other professional associations, Government officials, Board of Trustees, Outsourced Personnel, Vendors
  1. JOB ROLES & RespoNSIBILITIES
  2. Mission, Policy & Planning
    1. Develop BAM’s strategy and direction and cascade it to the departments’ managers.
    2. Revise and approve departmental business plans set by the senior team, ensure alignment with BMA’s approved strategy and objectives.
    3. Set BMA’s 3 years’ rolling plan and budget, submit and get Board and President for approval.
    4. Direct, plan, amend & oversee implementation of BMA’s policies and procedures to maximize revenues and increase productivity.
    5. Define, endorse and convey BMA’s culture and values to internal and external Stakeholders.
  3. Legal & Compliance
    1. Work closely with the Legal Counsel to ensure legal compliance with local laws.
    2. Ensure compliance with the IAAF and LAF regulations.
  4. Management & Administration
    1. Recommend and devise an organizational structure and authority matrix that supports BMA’s growth plan.
    2. Develop a supportive work environment that recruits, retains and supports best in class team members.
    3. Ensure proper systems and processes are in place to implement best practices in attracting, selecting, developing, motivating, compensating, and evaluating team members.
    4. Clearly communicate & cascade business plans to ensure all team members understand BMAs goals and objectives and their individual roles and objectives in contributing to BMA’s growth and plan implementation.
    5. Appoint, set objectives, coach, empower and ensure periodic evaluation of the senior team.
  5. Finance
    1. Oversee BMAs financial activities including budgeting, reporting and auditing.
    2. Ensure financial sustainability to meet current and projected growth.
    3. Direct and monitor Sales and Marketing activities to ensure sponsorship revenues growth.
  6. Community Relations
    1. Identify and develop relationships with ongoing sponsors and potential new sponsors.
    2. Cultivate and build successful long-term relationships with government bodies, municipalities and federations.
    3. Represent BMA at the highest levels by attending relevant business events and conducting public presentations.  This will include significant interface at a senior level within Government circles and the wider business community.
    4. Develop cooperative relationships with key stakeholders.
  7. Governance
    1. Ensure that the monthly operating statements are published in a timely manner.
    2. Keep the President and the Board well informed through periodic reports and meetings.
    3. Ensure Board decisions related to the operation are implemented.
  8. QUALIFICATIONS

To qualify as BMA’s ED, you should have the below as a minimum set of skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Political Science – NGOs, International affairs, or related fields.

 

  • Experience:            5 years of experience in a senior leadership role in NGOs.

Proven track record experience in Fundraising.

Proven track record in sales and marketing/public relations in the sport sector or in a comparable sector at a senior management level.

  • Influencing skills: ability to persuade others while remaining open-minded to the ideas of others.
  • Strategic thinking: ability to develop strategies, break them into activities that affect the bottom-line profitability.

  • Relationship Building: demonstrates credibility, confidence, and ability to gain trust and respect of all stakeholders.

 

  • Technical competencies:
  • Good Knowledge in fundraising principles.
  • Broad understanding of the measurement of profitability and the cost-effective use of resources, supported by a track record of achieving budget and profit objectives.
  • Command of English and Arabic. French is a plus
