Senior Media and Communications Specialist

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Develop the visibility and advocacy strategies for CLS and different projects and collaborate with the Media and Communications Officer to implement them
- Develop overall communication strategy of CLS
- Develop and leading awareness and advocacy campaigns.
- Lead communications with journalists and various media outlets (TV and written media)
- Manage media relations and maximize media opportunities
- Oversee CLS media releases, articles and features.
- Collaborate with donors and partners, governmental institutions, organizations and NGOs.
- Represent the organization locally and internationally (Forums, Conferences, NGO meetings…), as needed.
- Manage and ensure CLS’s media presence to increase visibility
- Help to translate research findings into information for the public
Minimum qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in media and communication, public relations, marketing, journalism, or other related fields.
- 8+ years of experience in communication and/or PR and has previous experience in working with governmental institutions, policy-makers, (I)NGO, etc.
- Previous experience in working with academic and research institutions.
- Basic knowledge of Lebanese and national research and publication organization and institutions
- Excellent command of English and Arabic
- Self-motivated and possesses excellent strategic thinking skills.
Desirable qualifications:
- Global profile
- Based in Lebanon
- Worked for international organizations
- Experience in a non-profit organization is a plus.
