RECRUITMENT OF A CONSULTANT FOR YALA-2 PROGRAM

1. About LOGI
LOGI is an independent non-governmental organization based in Beirut that promotes the transparent and sound management of Lebanon’s oil and gas resources. It aims to develop a network of Lebanese experts in the global energy industry and provide them with a platform to educate Lebanese policy makers as well as Lebanese citizens on the key decisions facing the oil and gas industry. It focuses on public awareness, policy development, advocacy, and capacity building to help Lebanon maximize the economic and social benefits of its oil and gas wealth – and avoid the resource curse.

3. Problem Addressed

In the midst of Lebanon’s financial and economic meltdown, it is feared that participatory democratic practices will be replaced by civil strife with the possible outbreak of another civil war. The current youth leading the October revolution are well positioned to establish a well-grounded process that includes advocacy-based campaigns used to effectively promote relevant reform.

In Mount Lebanon, the Lebanese Oil and Gas Initiative-LOGI in partnership with the National Democratic Institute-NDI is proposing to execute a 9 months project aiming at empowering the youth of the Mount Lebanon district to become enabled advocates for clear and relevant reforms needed for the community. Part and parcel of the project is ensuring that the developed capacities of the youth groups are used in a manner that ensures sustainable and productive communication with relevant decision makers.

To that end, LOGI is launching a call for a consultant for delivering the necessary training for participants.

4. Job Description and Services to be Provided

The consulting company or individual consultant will be required to:

  1. Deliver a training on debate and dialogue.
  2. Deliver a training on democracy.
  3. Deliver a training on advocacy.
  4. A minimum of 3 follow-up meetings with the participants to help them in implementing their projects. Adding to that, continuous capacitation to be provided, when deemed necessary to the specific cohort, in order to ensure adequate and desirable results are reached.

The trainings for points of 1,2, and 3 are to be conducted based on the curriculum provided by LOGI.
